I don't think people here dislike chihuahuas as much as they dislike the chihuahuas they have met! I'm sure you know how many poorly bred and very very UNDERTRAINED chis are out there, so you can see why people tend to be wary of a new chi. Yours is very cute (doesn't have those horrific bulging bug eyes that you always see on badly bred chis) and it looks like s/he gets to be a DOG and not an accessory!
I hear more and more stories about chis who are the top dogs over much much bigger dogs and who are such joyful little companions, which makes me appreciate the breed much more. Of course, I still have to see the same chi every day, the one who gets carried everywhere and throws horrendous barking and snarling fits if he comes within 10 feet of another dog and probably bites his share of humans too--because it's soooo cute when a little dog shows aggression!
We'd love to see more pics of your lovely little friend and, of course, hear about his antics and the fun he has just being a dog--one who, despite his appearance, is actually much bigger than any other dog!
