Part-time buddies!

Hi, I'd like to share pictures of my 2 wonderful pets.
I've read many people in this site are not partial to chihuahuas.. just like me before. I used to dislike chihuahuas for an unknown reason. Until I learned to appreciate their personalities and appearance.

I'd steal him and take him home any day - he/she is gorgeous. You have two lovely dogs.

Re: Part-time buddies!

Thanks! They're friends sometimes. Hehe.
When they play, the Chi loves biting the ears and pulling it. The cocker doesn't mind. However, when it's the cocker's turn.. I have to hold on the leash to ensure no one gets hurt. The chihuahua is so small that it's fragile. For that reason, she becomes defensive quickly.

It's funny after they play.. The chihuahua would be so wet with the Cocker's saliva

Re: Part-time buddies!

Very Cute pup. Both of them are. I saw a very funny scene one day at Petsmart. A guy was walking in with both of his dogs. One was a Chihuahua and the other was a Mastiff. It was a real laugh. He told me the Chihuahua was with out a doubt the Top dog in the house. That little dog best hope the Mastiff remains submissive. LOL

Re: Part-time buddies!

I don't think people here dislike chihuahuas as much as they dislike the chihuahuas they have met! I'm sure you know how many poorly bred and very very UNDERTRAINED chis are out there, so you can see why people tend to be wary of a new chi. Yours is very cute (doesn't have those horrific bulging bug eyes that you always see on badly bred chis) and it looks like s/he gets to be a DOG and not an accessory!

I hear more and more stories about chis who are the top dogs over much much bigger dogs and who are such joyful little companions, which makes me appreciate the breed much more. Of course, I still have to see the same chi every day, the one who gets carried everywhere and throws horrendous barking and snarling fits if he comes within 10 feet of another dog and probably bites his share of humans too--because it's soooo cute when a little dog shows aggression!

We'd love to see more pics of your lovely little friend and, of course, hear about his antics and the fun he has just being a dog--one who, despite his appearance, is actually much bigger than any other dog!

Re: Part-time buddies!

Thanks for the nice comments.
Here are some more pictures of them.

Here's how our cocker looked like the day we got him (2.5 months old), we fell in love instantly:

Here's him recently (5 months). Dogs sure grow up fast!

Re: Part-time buddies!

And here's Sophie. She can sleep anywhere! Any position.

Do you guys think our Chihuahua looks a little like a doberman pinscher?

A little info about our Chihuahua - she's the only Chihuahua I have ever met that LOVES food so much. When we are at home and she's laid on the floor.. there are times when she would go near our feet, looking straight up at us. Thank goodness she doesn't beg. She needs a bell on her always because it's so hard to see her. We might accidentally kick her. She normally shies away from the Cocker when the cocker plays too rough. However, as soon as she hears the sound of the dog treat jar opening.. ZOOM! The dogs try to one-up each other.. the Chihuahua would try to step on the Cocker Spaniel. Haha. Sophie also likes giving kisses. I think the breeder we got her from taught her.
