I also keep the first set of collars and leashes!! I didn't get to keep Eddie's first collar because unfortunately he snapped it, then ate part of it. Although, I still have Eddie's first leash. I still use it actually. I have Uallis's first collar still. I also have Uallis's first toy that I bought him (it's has too much wear and tear for him to play with safely). I didn't buy Uallis a leash of his very own, I use a retractable leash for him that I originally bought for Eddie.
