Sup Dudes? Hey, what would you like to be when you get older, or when you want a job? I would love to be a Vet Tech, so I have to listen in College!

Other.

I wouldn't want the responsibility of saving a life.

Re: Jobs

Yes, and Vet's are the ones who have to put animals to sleep too...I don't think I could ever do that, even for an old dog who it would be a mercy to.

Actually, Vet techs often do euthanasia, under the Vet's orders. =/

Vet tech is the life for me! =D

Re: Jobs

When I was a young'un, I wanted to be a vet until I thought about euthanasia. It wasn't until I was about 30 that I turned back towards my childhood dream and became a vet tech. Sometimes I wish I had become a vet instead, but now it's a little too late to do that. I wouldn't be able to afford the time away from work to attend school full time, and going part time would take too long. I'd graduate just in time to retire.

I dreaded euthanasia until I witnessed my first one. Then it was like, "Wow, that's it?"

Sometimes, euthanasia is the kindest thing you can do. Sometimes seeing animals so very, very sick, and the owner will not put it to sleep, is so heartbreaking to deal with, that when the poor creature finally does die, on one hand you're offering your condolences to the owner, and the other you're thankful it's no longer suffering.

Re: Jobs

Well. I am hoping to as soon as I turn sixteen, to get a job working at a petstore somewhere. I'm not sure if I want to work at a big commercial petstore or one of those little country one's yet...But I've got three years to worry about that! Well, I'll do that 'til I'm eighteen, and I'll still be working on my education, and I will always have puppies to raise. Then I will go for a year of bible college in Oregon, then come back and hopefully get an internship at GDA for three years, then I will be certified as a guide dog trainer! Then I'll most likely get hired by GDA...Intern's usually do.

I chose "Other."

Right now I am working on a psychology degree with a philosophy minor. Once I've attained my degree I'm going to go to grad school to get my Masters or PhD (some schools let you skip the Masters and go straight for the PhD) in forensic psychology. I hope to become a criminal profiler for either the CIA or the FBI.

Re: Jobs

Working on a genetics degree.... no idea about a job right now, but I am seriously thinking of art school after this. Okay, that's totally random, but anywho...

Right now my only 'job' is the odd art commission.
