I shouldn't be bred.

I have Trochanteric Bursitis! LOL

I finally went to the doctor because of my sore hip...it had gotten to where I had to shuffle around like a penguin.

A couple weeks ago I broke down and got some Aleve...that stuff is a miracle in a bottle! Within a couple days of taking it, my hip was good as new.

My concern is having to limit exercise...interestingly enough, my hip feels worse when I don't do anything for a few days. Last week I wasn't feeling well and couldn't work out (also stopped taking the Aleve) and it went back to being sore.

I can keep on working out with the Aleve, the doctor told me to focus on exercises that would stretch the muscle in my legs and that would help greatly.

I guess I should be neutered.

Re: I shouldn't be bred.

I'm not allowed to dispense medical advice (or use a scissors with pointy ends) but any of you that have high blood pressure, controlled or otherwise, should talk to your doctors about using Tylenol (acetaminiphen) instead of Aleve (naproxen sodium.)

And, of course, never give either one to your dogs.

Sorry, 'bout the bum hip, Curb. Joint problems suck.

This is a great angle. Next time my mom or inlaws nag me about having kids, I'll just say that we don't meet breeding standards. My husband and I both have luxating patellas. I'm double jointed (and not in a good circus-freak kind of way). He's a little nearsighted. I'm very nearsighted. There's heart problems in both our families.

Not having children is the only responsible thing to do.

That, and we don't want any.

Thank you!, but honestly I was just looking to be amusing, though I do appreciate the sympathies. I'm of the ilk that believes it's better to wear out than to rust out, so I've intentionally put my body through a lot of stress without regret. As I get older, I'm sure these minor nuisances will gather momentum in one shape or form, and I'm okay with that...endorphin is too addicting. I really don't have room to complain - Elsa gets the brunt of that for most part.

ahh - but I am betting that she is also one to motivate you - a cold wet nose to the underarm (or other equally tender & sensitive spot) is a good motivator

There was a time when I thought she was too much of a motivator, had too much energy. But she too with age has meshed perfectly with my daily activities. The only difference between her and I is, she does it with more charisma, lol. Gotta love those wet noses plopping on your lap!

Is the bursitis thing the same as you get in an elbow? If so, that was one of the most unpleasant things I've ever had and you have my absolute sympathy! I was a teacher in a former life and had and elbow like a grapefruit full of needles for about 6 weeks.

Elbows do have a bursa, and they can get inflamed the same as knees and hips. It sounds like your elbow was borderline needing surgery...ouch! My case is not nearly as bad, and with management I'm sure I can be comfortable. I may have to research Yoga as Carla mentioned, and cut back on the impact sports some, but I'll be fine.

I can't imagine how you could write on a chalk board, if you needed, to with an elbow like that.

It wasn't pretty!

It's never come back though. Possibly because of the ancient Scottish daily regimen! Highly recommend it for most ailments.

Be grateful Elsa doesn't throw things at you to motivate you.

Esther has a 90 mph fastball. She has hit my daughter and her boyfriend in the face and me in a much worse place.

Curb,
I took it as you meant it. It gave me a great smile .

Thanks to trying to crash test my Harley on the side of a van in 1989, I have an interesting right leg (both hip & knee). And yes, Ron, I have controlled hypertension and I exist on 8/10 xtra strength Tylenols a day. Works for me!

God Bless All......Stan
