I'd like a show of hands from the dog lovers who are willing to get back to what we all do best: talking about dogs.
This is embarrassing. If anyone has stumbled across this normally excellent forum for the first time tonight, they are thinking, "Dog lovers? I don't see any dog lovers here."
And this is exactly why I will resist any efforts to encourage the kind of off topic debates that can best be handled elsewhere. | Im assuming that the OffTopic section of the site is to not talk about dogs
Besides, Im sure the site will be so much better now. I cant wait to create a good OT thread that will last

There are all sorts of possible scenarios. What's the worst that could happen if the moderators just stayed out of the off topic threads unless someone specifically reported a post?
With the short-lived Bible thread that came and went tonight, we really tried to keep the thread open and just delete the most argumentative posts. It didn't work and it was a LOT of work. I'd rather focus on the dogs myself. |

| Re: To the moderators... I enjoy not talking about dogs around here some. Breaks up the monotony. You can only discuss Cesar Milan, Designer Dogs, working versus showing splits, and bad dog food so many times without a break. LOL
Here's to hoping that in the future off topic threads of a more sensative nature remain civil and everyone is mature! |

I, for one, plan to go to bed, dream happy dreams and wake up refreshed.
Then I can come back here and be the kick-ass moderator for another day. |

| Re: To the moderators... I am of course willing to follow the rules of the forum but really. It is off topic. and if it bothers people to argue well then just dont and if you choose to argue then that is your problem. I do not see why the thread should be closed since it is off topic an no one is being forced to read it or respond. and it is a good subject. And is it really arguing or a debate?
I just do not understand why it was closed. I am wondering is one of the Mods or sight owners so against any type of religion they can not bear for any words written about it to be on their forum? NOT REALLY WANTING AN ANSWER. If the answer is yes well then since it is their forum maybe just make that clear in the begining that no talk of religious beliefs is ever allowed.
Anyway it just does not make sense to me no one was swearing and I did not see anything really bad on that thread. Who is loosing sleep over anything posted there? It is OFF TOPIC.
Thats all I have to say about that. |

| Re: To the moderators... We have made statements on why. Continue to debate the owners and moderators and face the consequinces. I'm locking this thread down. http://www.dogforums.com/7-off-topic...s-debates.html (Important Notice - Religious Debates) |
