I was just wondering , what are you guys' ideas on school .
When you were a kid did you hate it or love it? Kids , what do you think?
It was quite hard everyone asking me where i was for those two weeks before spring break and Monday is never an easy day . I mean I know it is going to help us out in the long run to be what ever we want to be but I mean geez!
And my school..its soo.......schooley , everyone is dressed 10x their age and saying stuff... Ugh anyways 2 more months whew!!
Thanks

| Re: School! At first, when I was in elementary school, I had mixed feelings. At times, I hated it, at times I LOVED it, at time I was nuetral.
Now that I am maturing in all aspects, in high school, I actually like it. I like it alot. Its very interesting, challenging, and demanding. Although, my grades don't show it, I have learned alot. But at times, again, I hate it, because the teachers are so demanding, and get on you for missing one homework. But I will carry everything I learn from high school to hopefully a good Cullinary School.
That reminds me, I need to talk to my counseler about Cullinary Schools, and where to go...I'm in 10th grade by the way...... |

| Re: School! Thanks for the wish. I doubt I will get into the BEST, but I'm sure I will get into a good one.
With High School, and pretty sure with most middle schools, everyday is the same exact thing. Its the same classes, except on certain days when you have gym or study hall. EVERYDAY in a semester you have to go to the same classes, at the same time, see the same exact people, teachers etc. Unless theres a bomb threat or something on the lines of that, its boring. I hate my Spanish teacher and class, I hate English class, and I hate gym... ITS SO BORING!!!! |

| Re: School! I guess no one on this forum is in Elementry school but I guess this applys slightly to middle school too. Elementry school is the best school ever! Every day before a break everyone has some kind of pot luck and then there are holidays where everyone brings candy!! Ahhh how I miss Elementry school
But when your in High School, it is best for the teachers to be strict when it comes to turning in assignments on time because when it comes to college most teachers will not let you turn it in. Some will but those that do will always take away one full grade for each day it is late (A material gets a B, B material gets a C, etc. etc.). |

| Re: School! So am I. Some of the stuff I'm doing is ninth or tenth grade, but then again, some of the stuff I'm doing is seventh grade!! Lol, homeschoolers grades are all over the place. My science is tenth grade, my english ninth, my math seventh, etc...
This year I am earning sixty highschool credits though. It's fun to be homeschooled!

| Re: School! I hated my high school. HATED it. =/ Too many -fake-, stuck-up, mean people. But I really loved my technical school, which I attended for my senior years of high school. I took Animal Sciences, and (almost) everyone there was dedicated to animals, so I fit in much better there than at plain high school.
And I love my school now. =) |

| Re: School! Oh, I have plenty of friends. I belong to a homeschool group, and we meet for fieldtrips and stuff, and plus, since everyone is homeschooled, no one has been exposed to all of the horrible stuff out there, so they are all not afraid of talking about their beliefs. Ilovemypup, I am NOT trying to say that you or any other public schoolers are evil. I am just saying that we have not been exposed to all of the evolution textbooks and such. |

| Re: School! If I ever have kids (keyword= IF) I will homeschool them. There are many more reasons to go homeschool than to go public. Such as the teachers, a lot of kids are intimidated by teachers and learn to fear adults and do everything they say. If homeschooled they are more likely to respect adults and talk to them normally. |

| Re: School! ooh i would love to go to a tech school like that for high school! that would be great..
Ive wondered that also..i think about the things i would and woundlt have done..hmm
I probably woundt have exspored my city much (we walk to my school sometimes .:P )
I'm needing summer school nomatter how much work I make up . ( long ..sad story )
I hate school for that matter... since we moved to SF last year i think I was in 5th grade and the teacher was like...scared of me!!
I was no bully...very shy! But since I have this lung disease thing she would be scared that I would collapse! or something , my mom always asurred her I woundnt but even then!... At the end of the year she didnt even want to take me to Six Flags(it was the end of the school year thing) she actually called my mom and siad" you know I really dont think Ali should go b/c of blah blah blah" She mad me mad.. I did miss school b/c i was very sick and I had poor grades , and she always put me on the spotlight about somethinng or another . I think the only reason she passed me to 6th is because she didnt want to deal with me again!!
this year kinda iffy! |

I think I've benefitted from public schools, even though I hated them. If it wasn't for those horrid schools, I wouldn't have learnt just how cruel the world really is. I wouldn't have learned to make friends as easily as I do (which isn't very easily anyway, since I'm still too shy). I would have no idea, I believe, about how manipulative people can be. =3 |
