Originally Posted by Eris13021 scarring experience? Me i just changed my screen name when individuals who i dont like got it. Now no more issues. LOL. | Many moons ago, I was in college. This was the early days of the Interweb when we nerds got excited on the rare times we got 56k dial up speed. I was proud that I could get 14.4k most of the time at home, but had to dial up at night because my parents didn't want me tieing up the phone line. (Remember those good old days?) Anyway, I got AIM which was the premier messenger program at the time aside from ICQ. ICQ was just a number, not a logon name so AIM was making great strides.
Now, I'm in college and I'm 18-19 years old. Dumb as a box of rocks. Actually, there are probably boxes of rocks with higher IQs than me. Idiot would've been an improvement for me at that point in my life. I was not very smart and had the common sense God gave my basset hound.
Being an 18-19 year old male, all life scarring stories from that age require a girl and this one is no different. Her name was Chelsea. She was a blonde who was highly intelligent, quick as a whip, a social butterfly and drop dead gorgeous (at least to me). To say I was enamored would be an understatement. To this day I wonder if she was "the one", but that's another thread. I was madly in love as an 18-19 year old boy can be. Of course she did not feel the same way. She thought of me as a friend. I thought of her as a goddess. Lest I ruin what relationship I had, I didn't tell her how I felt. (Did I mention I was dumb as a box of rocks back then?)
So, one night I'm on my 14.4 kb dial up connection hoping my parents aren't expecting a phone call and I'm on AIM and I see that she's logged on. I start talking to her. "How are you?" "What did you think of that lecture today?" "Did you hear what so-and-so did?" And she's responding back. We're having a conversation. I'm happy. Finally I ask, "What are you doing for lunch tomorrow?" The response I get will be etched in my mind until I die, "This is Chelsea's mom. You'll have to ask her yourself." I immediately looked for a place to hang myself. |

| Re: who has messengers? AIM/MSN/Yahoo? If I had a nickel for every time I was chatting with someone's parent unknowingly (Mostly because my friends' parents liked to screw with me, but still...) I'd be able to pay off most of my credit card debt. |

Scarring. |

He did not find out it was her mom over IM. They met for lunch, suspiciously at Motel 6. Hulk was tricked, because she said she adored the donuts there. Being the lower-than-a-rock he is, he believed that.
He showed up there, and her mother quickly tied him up. He did not see the light of day for a week after. He endured ordeals no man should have to.
That's the truth of it. Sorry dude, but it had to be out in the open. You need to get over it. |

| Re: who has messengers? AIM/MSN/Yahoo? Wow okay sure sad situation but instead of blaming the messenger..you should look at it more as a life lesson as in..before hitting on anyone check for webcam or something of that sort. Makes a BIG difference since you SEE who you are talking to.
Or yanno you could also try..going out in public and finding a girl the old fashioned way. |

Yes, but was her mom hot too?
| Flashback, I was 24, dating a woman who was 44. She was smoking. Her daughter was 19 and smoking as well. We went out on a double date. The daughters boyfriend was 27. I thought to myself sitting at the dinner table that my girlfriends daughters boyfriend is older than me. That was one strange feeling. |
