Bleh, I wish I had photoshop.

I've been getting really paranoid about people stealing pictures of my girls. Mainly due to the fact that several friends on another forum had their pictures stolen.

I wish I had photoshop so I could make a watermark. D:

By "girls" do you mean daughters, or dogs?... Cause if it's pics of your daughters and they're under age then legal action should be taken.

As far as watermarks go, I know a few ppl who are PS pros. Apparently watermarks are easy to work around if you know what you're doing.

I'd say contact an intellectual properties lawyer and get any and all pics (both present and future) under copyright. But that can be costly.

Unfortunately, the risk of someone steal your pics is one you'll have to take when posting on the web.

And what's the harm or loss of people using the pictures?



If it's really an issue you can simply type something on the picture in MS Paint.

I personally have never watermarked anything I've made. And I've been making sigs for countless years on many different forums. I just enjoy seeing my art in action.

It coulda also be that I'm a huge fan of turning video clips into animated gifs. And I can't really claim the original work as my own.

All your photographs are automaticaly under copywrite protection to you (we learned about this in class) and if you have the original file you can threaten to sue if you find someone using it. I'm not new to having my work stolen, but usually threatening to sue will at least scare off the young kiddies, but it wont scare off the photoshop pros. Depending on the placement of your watermark it can be very easy to remove it. (the watermarks on my images are very easy to remove if you know what your doing)

Tw1n~ it is extremely unnerving to me when I find my dogs picture plastered on someone elses site saying "This is my Dog Bingo, She's a Black and Orange and White Collie, She's very sweet to me, but she like to bite other people who threaten me. shes a great guard dog.!!)

I guess I see how it could be annoying. Personally, I'm usually flattered when people use my pictures. But i guess if they use the pictures and make you look bad it's a defferent story.

If you are3 willing to spend some money you can buy an older version of Photoshop elements on E-bay for probably around $20. I use Both PS CS3 (at school) and PSE 5.0 (here at home) and I love both equaly. You can add watermarks in any of the PSE versions.

That's just it. I don't want to find my dogs on someone's site being claimed as theirs.

I not only took the time to capture the pictures, but I also put the time and effort into caring for my dogs and keeping them in the condition they are in.

For some nitwit to come along and just claim all of it as theirs is quite annoying.

LoL... I've had my 'free' photoshop for about a year now... LOVE IT! and love having a boyfriend that knows how to get free stuff.

I'm still rocken PS 7 like a champ from years back. I'm to lazy to try and get all the seriel numbers and stuff for a new one, and I can make 7 work just fine.

I'd say 600 dollars for a program that takes $.10 to recreat is just as much robbery... but I guess one is legal and ones not.

It may very well be, but after years of being with James and learning how to torrent, doesnt stop me sorry. If there is a way to get free stuff over the net and not get caught I'm doing it. I enjoy my new movies, programs, games... music (tell me, who doesnt download music these days and make cds to listen to?). Not ashamed to say we dont have money to throw around for the finer things in life, and not ashamed to say I somehow have them. You want to call it stealing, so be it then torrenting is stealing.

Anyway, like Curb said... GIMP is a good one to use if you cannot get a better one. I used that one before I had a better one.

I didnt read all the comments so sorry if this is repetivite...

But you can download Adobe Lightroom 3 - right now its in Beta so its free until April and it has the capabilities to add watermarks. Also once its out of Beta i dont think it wil be too expensive. Lightroom 2 i think is about 100$ (but no watermark)

Do you honestly think anyone who's made anything worth pirating hasn't made enough money off of it already?

Actors, Directors, and Producers loose some money due to piracy, but still manage to band millions. Same with musicians. And any software writer sells their product before it's realeased, so they make their money. Then the big company who's already making millions loses a little bit of money here and there.

The rich complain because they arn't getting richer... and the poor get called theives because they can't afford to make the rich richer.

I'm not a theif, but if I can download something for free I'll do it.
