WHO is the "founder/owner" here on DF's??

I have said before that I am a forum poster from another forum-based site...although it is a completely different interest area for posting, I am still VERY curious as to how the two relate to each other, since the formats for many of the same features are the exact same(to a certain degree)...
In my other fan site, its called webkinzinsder.com there are literally thousands of members(alot of whom are kids-we have VERY STRICT COPA laws to abide by)..it is a huge homepage daily site for MANY...anyhow, on to the topic...the owners/FOUNDERS are Justin & Wendy(Wendy has since gone into hiding since the site got hacked a week ago though)...my point is..over there, "Justin" & "Wendy" are like royality..when they post, the entire board goes into a frenzy of sorts...like rain has decided to fall on a parched day...as far as I can tell, of COURSE the DF's here are different, but,...still, that curious part of me can't help but wonder at the history of DF....anyone have any interesting history info to share???..ie.-who started the DF, & where are they now? Do they post here still? Do they make themselves stand out as a "founder" or what????

Of course the forums are laid out the same, they're both running 3.x builds of vBulletin

vBulletin is very flexible. Many forums using it are very different than here.

Yes, is would be nice to know more about who is providing us with the forum.

Ultimately, it's the paying sponsors that make dog forums possible - which is why we are so careful to keep spammers at bay.

I've been here a few years and a moderator for most of that time, and I have no idea who the forum owners are. To my knowledge, they don't participate.

It's an interesting question, I guess. I'm no expert as I'm only on 2 forums and they both run smooth as silk. So whoever owns or started DF, I don't really care, just keep doin what you're doin.

As far as the history of DF goes, just head to the "General" section (or any section really) and go to the last page then start reading. I spent weeks reading through some of that super old stuff. Very entertaining.

Actually, I HAVE gone back to some of the "old school" threads here-LOL

...think the oldest ones that I noticed were from back April/06, so, I am assuming thats about when someone hatched the idea to create this forum in the first place. I found it pretty interesting how quite a few of you guys were some of the first few members, & are still going strong here today too!...I could easily get lost reading so many of the threads here.
