Anyone ever bought a car sight unseen?

Well, if it doesn't sell on auction and you're still interested let me know...

I live on Long Island... so depending on the location of the car I could at least arrange to meet the car and 1) see it in person so you know the car does infact exist! and 2) take my own pictures for you so you know that the pictures are really of the car for sale.

I'm not exactly car problem savy... so that's about the most amount of help I could offer...

I really appreciate the offer and may take you up on it just probably not with this car. I'm finding that pretty much any Tom, **** and Harry can list cars on ebay motors, but only dealers who provide ebay with a copy of their dealers license can post as dealers. This gives them a little more credibility to me. I may lean more toward dealing with a dealer than a private party.

What am I looking for in a car? I can basically divide what I want into two categories. One is stuff I have to have in the car, the other is stuff I'd love to have in the car, but if I don't, I won't cry over it. Price range is up to $7kish if the car is really, really nice and really, really worth it. I would prefer to pay in the area of $5k

Must have:
4dr small to mid size sedan
Automatic
low mileage
2003-2007ish. I'm not buying anything new as I can't afford to take the butt-kicking on depreciation. I just can't.
Fold down back seat so oversized items can fit in the trunk.

Would like:
Cruise control
Tape deck or line in input on the stereo (for my satellite radio) or satellite radio built in
leather seats (heated is a huge plus, I love my heated leather seats in my car)
Good performance
Hybrid
