How much does it cost? And is it just like a test that you have to pass?? |

But then you have to go through the naturalization process which can taken anywhere from 5 months to 2 years. I'm sure I would have become a citizen sooner, but I couldn't apply myself until I was 18 because as a minor my parents had to do it for me to become one...so that was complicated and they talked of moving back to England, so it wasn't something they wanted to jump into as for my whole family (6 of us) it would have been very expensive and they wanted us to decide for ourselves if we wanted to become citzens or not.
So when I was 18 I didn't have the money to become a citizen...now it doesn't seem like as much money to spend. I think they lowered the actual fee to $330. But there's all kinds of other fees. Our friends from England ended up paying around $1500 each! But yeah it's a long process. I first have to apply, then I get scheduled for an interview on why I want to become a citizen and then you have a test and are sworn in. Now that I am older I am getting serious about wanting to become a citizen since I don't plan to move back to the UK. |

We're basically citizens except that we can't vote. LoL. I think those people either live here illegally or live off of work Visas. I don't know though.
And yeah I was especially wishing I was a citizen in the last election! I would have loved to vote! I was the one of my friends who was really into the election, but couldn't vote and I was FURIOUS when some of my friends who were also into politics just decided not to vote. It's angering to me. One of my good friends is about to graduate college with a Political Science major (POLITICAL SCIENCE) and he refuses to vote. Ah! |

I am more careful when I talk to kids also. I am not going to say they take things the wrong way or not but I think that their feelings are hurt more easily.
some of the things they post about people may think they are irresponsible about and want to tell them this but if you know they are a kid it is really the parents fault if something irresponsible happens.
As an adult many of us have had our feelings hurt so many times we get numb to it or it takes alot more to hurt them.
As a kid sure they are going to live and learn and get feelings hurt but a dog forum is really not a place they should be hurt on. |

Could I ask you a personal question? Who would you have voted for? (You don't have to answer if you don't want to). |

Same as I said above. No offense though.
By the way, I am 16.
EDIT:
CrzyBritNAmerica, your right. Its kind of harder to debate on a forum with younger people because they take it the wrong way if you say something they don't like. | Beagle lover, you're pretty mature for a 16 year old, you remind me of my oldest daughter.
I'm 40 BTW |

Could I ask you a personal question? Who would you have voted for? (You don't have to answer if you don't want to). | Yeah he is a great friend of mine, but he firmly believes that him voting will not make a difference. I am CONSTANTLY telling him that if everyone thought that then of course it won't make a difference...but if ALL the people who said that would actually vote it WOULD make a difference! lol.
And the personal question if fine. Kerry. |

I'm 40 BTW | You're right. She (He??) DOES sound alot older. I always thought that she was maybe in her twenties or thirties, never would have guess sixteen. |

And now I know! Thats exactly how it works! If they would just believe it would all make a difference! Well too bad some people are just that way |

The way I figure it is, if they cant handle it they shouldnt be here. If I am around kids in the real world then ya I deffinately watch what I say and how I act but then there, its not always a choice whether they are around me or not LOL |

I say what I want to say too but I just mean when I am replying to them I still say it I just might be nicer about it. Or not put in any sarcasm. I really do try to always give an honest opinion to everyone I try to always say it nicely though.
What drives me crazy is when someone agrees with you just to be nice. Not here but in the real world. |

I hate that too! If you have an opinion then share it! I also hate it when people get mad because you have a different opinion than them. They come out with things like 'well you don't have to mean' or 'well you can stop bashing my opinion'. Seriously, no one is bashing you just because they don't agree. It's weird. |

Also there are people on here that consider us 'young adults' (18-25) as kids, so it's all good!
Edit: Maybe young adults is a wider range? 18-30 or so? I have no idea, but you get my point. lol.
