Question hermit crabs

Does anyone have hermit crabs? I have 3, but one hasn't moved for about a week now. I'm not sure if it's molting or dead. Is there a way to tell the difference?

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to go do that. I presently, don't have any pictures of the set-up. I have pictures of them getting a shower somewhere. I'll have to go look for them.

Since hermit crabs are beach animals they need lots of humidity. A humidifier set to put out about 60-70% humidity is about right. The sand in the aquarium cage should be a little moist. Most crabs will knock enough water out of there bowls to accomplish this. The crabs we know have 3 shallow sea shells. One is for salt water, another for fresh water, and another for food. They also sprinkle some sort of vitamins around the food shell too. Also in the aquarium are pieces of driftwood, rocks, and berms of sand.

Where so I get the salt for the water? My aquarium has a bowl with rocks and water, they have bigger rocks to climb onto, and they also have the calcisand. I put fake plants in it as well, which they seem to like.

So, maybe it's not humid enough. I have the heater under the calcisand and it makes it around 75 degrees in there. Is that too cold?

They other question I have is, do your crabs come out to play during the day. Mine sleep all day and come out at night. I know they are nocternal, but I don't see tham at all when the suns out.
