| American Idol Fans? American Idol is the one show that I never miss. I like some others but for some reason I just love this show. So do my daughters.
My favorites this year are
Jordan
Gina
Hailey (I know she is not the best singer but I think she will improve)
For the boys I only like one Blake but I think the girls are all more talented thatn him.
I think Melinda and Lakish are awesome but just not my style.
Even though Simon is too harsh I usually agree with him. |

| I watched American Idol from the begining too but lately I havent been watching except for parts of the result show. I think its kinda boring and they really drag it out, but the first few weeks of the show where everyone was auditioning, that was the most interesting for me. Simon is soo funny, I know hes mean but I think without Simon too many people would make it. Did you notice that one show when he was late because he went out drinking the night before, Paula and Randy were definatly not as interesting. To me the judges make the show great, all 3 of them! |

This year I wanted to wait till the final 12 were chosen before I became a "serious watcher" so I just saw some of the auditions. Wish I had seen that one.
Yeah, the judges really do bring alot to the show. Paula being too nice and we like to laugh at her silly clap. I think she is trying not to break her finger nails.
Randy well I really did not like him at all at first but he has kinda grown on me.
And Simon well like you said it would not be near as good with out him.

| Paula seems like she is often times afraid tot tell the truth about how she feels. Instead of saying that performance was just horrible she will avoid the fact that it is a singing competition and say how nice they are dressed or their shoes are. I think maybe she is just too nice.
Actually I had to edit this because I wanted to add I and not just this season I sometimes think that is no Coke she is drinking in that cup. Lol! |

| I also enjoy the show. I don't ever vote... because I'll never buy an American Idol winner's CD. I don't think they're real artists, and... more importantly, I don't like their styles.
I am shocked that Sanjaya is still on. He's ok... but he's no where near as tallented as any of the other singers... but each week he manages to stay while someone better gets booted. I really wish they'd only allow 1 vote per phone line... that way we'd have a much more accurate result of which singer is America's favorite. |

BUT
I am suprised you to not think they are real artists. I think Carrie Underwood is a very talanted artist. She has a beautiful voice and knows how to use it. I do not think it matters how they got noticed I think it is the talent that counts.
I saw an interview with Carrie Underwood and she said That bein on American Idol was a whole different kind of "dues" Because someone I think it may have been LeAnne Rhymes said she did not deserve to win a paticular award because she has not paid enough dues. I think LeAnne was just jealous. NOt that she should be she has a great voice to. |

What I meant by not viewing them as real artists is that they practically become famous over night. In my mind, real artists work for years and years and struggle year after year to be discovered. There's a huge difference between becoming famous over-night and working your butt off for half of your life until you're discovered.
I definitely think the American Idol winners have excellent voices (Well... except for Fantasia. I never liked her and was disappointed that she won). It's just, I look at them as a "contest winner" rather than an actual artist.
Am I making more sense? Sometimes I do a piss-poor job of explaining exactly what I mean. |

| I think that some of them wouldn't have been found if not for AI. Like, Carrie Underwood. She came from a small town and probably didn't have the $ to go off to Hollywood on her own. I think it's a great new way to discover talent that would go undecovered- my favorites are Chris Doughtry and Carrie Underwood. I also like Kelly Clarkeson~ I know, they are all quite different! |

Sometimes I do a piss-poor job of explaining exactly what I mean. | I understant what you are saying and why but to me when I hear someone thats sounds just as good as the other that worked their butt off for years I just think of one really lucky (Charmed or Blessed) but otherwise I think I appreciate the both the same.
The year Fantasia won I do not think I watched. I must not like her music either though because I do not know any of it? If I had heard some songs and did not know who sang them and thought the sounded great I would of found out who they were by since that never happened with Fantasia I guess I must not care for her music.
Explained your self pretty good here. I often problably explain myself well either in postings. Since no one knows me in person I often wonder how they picture me I mean personality wise mainly. I think sometime people may think I am serious and I am really laughing while typing. Sometimes here when I type my responses I am in tears I am laughing so hard at what I just typed. |

I believe she's only made two albums... and one of those is the album she made immediately after winning the competition. |
