Ghosts?

I was wondering if anyone has had paranormal experiences. I haven't had any until about 3 months ago. It started with cold spots in various areas of the house, then we started to hear foot steps at night. The foot steps were more of the floor creaking as if someone was walking to the door way of are bedroom and then stopping, then (within the past month) we started to hear our 2 yr old daughter waking up at night (this has happened 3 different times) crying slightly and saying "Go away", but of course there's no one in there when we check on her. My wife (who doesn't claim to be psychic at all) believes that we are living with 4 spirits, 2 men a woman and a little boy. She also believes that they are friendly and that we shouldn't be afraid. Now this isn't me asking for advice cause I feel very safe despite the recent activity, I just wanted ppl to share their experiences if anyone has had any.

In addition I wanted to include some youtube vids of some shit that I feel is most likely fake, but it's still kinda erie... Feel free to comment and add your own material.

I'm sure this is fake, but watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROmPYyvX78U

This just sounds creepy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTA-cCUMtAo

Watch the door after he closes it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzZI1...eature=related

I'll add some more later of some footage I just can't explain...

Re: Ghosts?

I must admit i couldn't watch the vids because i'm terrified of only two things, Ghosts being one....

As a child my best friend lived in a house where her grandmother died in the bedroom, and her stepdad commited suicide in the same bedroom.

You could hear him, usually in the garage, where he spent alot of time.

Things moved. I saw a chair move, about three feet, of its own accord. She swore that objects occasionally flew from the shelves.

That house had two unexplainable very very cold spots.

but yeah, wierd.

Re: Ghosts?

The last link didn't work for me. The first video seemed fake..the second made my dogs jerk their heads up so I turned it off.

With that said- I'm a firm believer in ghosts, spirits, afterlife etc. But,with this being a public board, I'm not going to share too many of my experiences for skeptics to read and roll their eyes because they're quite personal.

I've always believed in ghosts but never had many experiences until my mother died about 4 years ago and the most amazing activity began the very night she died. since then she has pretty much been a constant around my house- so much so that I feel a LOT of the things she does are ignored or unnoticed because we've grown used to them. Sometimes I have to stop and realize that it probably takes a LOT of energy to flip a light on and off at a precisely funny moment.

Anyway, I could go on and on about spirits, "dark entities", shadow ghosts etc. A few years back my brother,my friend, and myself got a bit in to playing with ouijas and it brought some freaky crap in to my house. It took a LONg time to get rid of them. My brother took the board home and put it in his laundry room. One day he walked in and found it broken into hundreds of pieces.

I swore I'd never communicate verbally with the dead again. But then a couple weeks ago my family (a cousin) was in quite a terrible situation and I had numerous questions that the living just couldn't answer. So I tried automatic writing and it was fantastic and informative. I got mom and my uncle right away. The next day I tried it again and I got some punk spirit/entity/something who absolutely punked me and when I told it (after a LONG while) that I didn't want to talk to it, it said "too bad, I want to talk...BITE ME"

Anyway, anyway, anyway. What you're dealing with may not be active spirits at all, but possibly a residual haunting recurring around a certain date.

Re: Ghosts?

First I wanna say thanks Roscosmom and Criosphnx for the replies, and for helping me not feel like a nut case LOL! I might try automatic writing as well as doing some evp's and such, but I'm a little hesitant because of what I MIGHT find LOL! Maybe I'll grow some balls and do an evp session tonight... Maybe.

An agnostic like myself always keeps skepticism nearby. The two always seems to go hand in hand, or at least that's what I thought until 3 months ago... Last night, around midnight I was down in the basement putting clothes in the dryer. Now as soon as I hit the bottom step on my way down I felt a cold spot over my left shoulder, which was accompanied by goosebumps. This cold spot stayed with me the entire time I was down there (only on my left shoulder), but I didn't see anything; however I felt as if I was being both followed and watched. The cold spot dissipated ONLY when I cleared the bottom step on my way back upstairs... Weird.

Here's some more vids, and as always tell me what you guys think.

Here's a ghost of a little boys floating toward the camera:

Re: Ghosts?

I think I believe in ghosts, but I don't think I'm "talented" enough to actually see them. My parents get dreams from our departed loved ones once they die, and I never get anything. ._. My mom says that she and dad are told "goodbye" when they get these dreams.

I think one of our cats can see ghosts, though. In our old house, she used to watch something every now and then. Whatever it was would be moving around, slowly, and she'd watch it, fascinated, for about 10-15 minutes each time. None of the other cats, or us, ever saw anything.

EVP's give me the heebyjeebies for some reason. But if you take one, I'll definitely listen!@

As for the youtube video, I keep getting this message
The URL contained a malformed video ID.
on a lot of them. Dunno why. Overall, I've only ever been impressed by one, ever. I'll see if I can find it. Not to mention the fact that I'm a little gun shy from all of those spoof videos that you start watching so closely and then BAM! it's a close up of something creepy and loud.

Bah,looking.
Here's a link full of youtube videos from a forum I'm a member at..

I'll keep browsing, it's got to be in that topic.

I'm not sure what I think about ghosts. I think it's possible they are around... but for some reason I don't think any are good or friendly...idk has to do with my beliefs I guess.

Re: Ghosts?

When I was a teen and worked at a restaurant I had some crazy experiences. I would open early in the morning some days, and close late at night some days so was out on the floor or in certain areas alone a lot. I would always feel an eerie "presence" even when I knew for a fact that the nearest human was in the kitchen or back office while I was prepping or cleaning. I would feel someone standing behind me at the drink machines, you know, just the unmistakeable energy and heat of a body.. Not cold, heat. I would see someone out of the corner of my eye walking down the hallway to the bathrooms and then follow to see who it was, no one was there. The craziest thing was the night I saw a woman walk across the "overflow" room at the back of the restaurant (we only ever opened it or turned the lights on when we were really crowded). I went back to see if it was my boss, no one was in the room. I finally said something to someone about the creepiness, and one of my coworkers said "Oh, I thought you knew about the woman that was murdered here in the 70's". Ummmm.. no. I figured they were screwing with me so I went to the owner and asked him and he told me the whole story. Some crazy man had literally slit his wife's throat at the table and she bled out before they could get her to a hospital. (This was the middle of nowhere in southern Utah). So.. then others started telling me about their experiences, one that really stands out is the lady that was super old and was a hostess there forever said she would come in some mornings and a chair would be missing from the table where the lady was sitting. So, I don't know what I think about it all, but I can tell you I definitely felt and saw things and I am not crazy.

Re: Ghosts?

That's quite scary. If your wife says they are harmless, you still should not come in contact with them. They may SEEM friendly, but they could be demons. Demons are very deceptive, and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you won't figure out if they are demons or not. The best way to avoid any demonic contact is to just leave them alone all together, yet you should seek some professional help. I would ask a preist to come to your house and check it out, if I were you.

Re: Ghosts?

Well, when we eat a traditional meal in the house, menudo and fry bread, tounge, heart, kidneys, stuff like that, we always take a bit outside and leave it there for family members who have died.
When we drop a bit of food, some of what we are eating goes outside because passed family members are craving it.
It's how I was raised, as my parents are both part Lakota, leaving me a 3/4 breed.

At my aunt's old house things would randomly move, and floor boards would creak, and it was a man by what she believe's.

At the historical movie theater here in town, the reels would get thrown around. An old sub of mine used to work there and he said they were eating popcorn after close one time and the trap door opened (it was for plays and still is sometimes) and a green light was showing through. The fron't doors were locked, and they were alone. They acted like anybody would. They ran.

Something about headlights but no car on some of the streets here in town.

I do believe in ghosts.

The video's don't look to bad, a tad predicable though.

Re: Ghosts?

I don't know where I stand on ghosts. I haven't seen any, I haven't really had any paranormal experiences except last year and even then I'm still just confused as to what happened. I'm a very practical person so... yeah, still not sure.

I live with Summer and two room mates in a three bedroom apartment. We've lived there for over a year now. We've had some weird noises and things, lots of clattering from the closet, open the door and nothing has moved. Lights turn on and off, same with tvs and game systems. Only occasionally, we didn't think much of it.

About halfway through last year the weirdest thing started happening. We were walking into the living room and look at Anne's door and there is a black hand print in it. It was a small hand, did not fit any of ours. It was a right hand, black on a white door, pointing slightly downward at an odd angle. The freakiest thing is that it left dents in the wood. Like someone had grabbed the door for dear life. You could clearly make out a palm, fingers, thumb.... Where each finger ended there was a dent in the door. We kept putting our hands up to it trying to figure it out. So we grabbed cleaning stuff and went to clean it up. We scrubbed, tried everything and it wouldn't come up. It had not been there before (we had left together to go to the movies), we were sure! It was so black on the white door that it was impossible to miss.

So we looked around the rest of the house out of curiosity. On the door frame leading to my room there was another print with tiny black tips of the fingers wrapped around the door frame- pretty low to the ground. Again, like someone had been dragged into my room and had fought to not be by grabbing the door frame. No dents this time, and it wouldn't be washed off either. We also found one in Anne's bathroom. Not a full print, just fingers. Then we found one in the hall by the kitchen, just a partial, no dents as well... None of us are big 'believers', but we just kind of sat there. No one brought up the possibility that our place was haunted, we were too shaken up. We never mentioned it to anyone. If I'd had a camera, I'd have taken pictures, though.

But about two weeks later, they vanished on their own somehow. None of us could ever get them removed. One day we woke up and just noticed they were gone. The dents, however are still there....

Since then no more handprints. We now joke that it's haunted. I have never heard of anyone having a similar experience, but would be very very interested if you had. Frankly it freaked me out.

Re: Ghosts?

I have to tell you I was fairly reluctant to believe in them, but they still scared the crap out of me at the same time. Then........ my friend and I went to a cemetery near us that is world known for being one of the most haunted cemeteries. We did a "ghost tour" for Halloween (it was actually one week after) then we went to a slave cemetery at an underground railroad station that night and saw and heard freaky stuff. We actually saw a shadow person not once but 3 times!!!! and prepare yourselves.......... this is what showed up on my camera when I uploaded it to my computer...............
Bachelor's Grove --- photo was taken from one side of a chain link fence because other side is all swamp.........

Now here is a more enhanced from a person that I submitted the photo to have analyzed and the circles are from his doing

Here is the underground railroad photos they were enhanced just by the standard enhance on your computer to lighten as the original pictures were so dark.
Original

Now look at far left by building of enhanced........ there is a clear shadow there and no one else was in the cemetery

Now all you skeptics out there can take it as you want but these have been analyzed by professionals and they are even stumped. It was my first and last time ever going on a ghost tour!

Re: Ghosts?

Those are great! I always feel a bit sorry for any ghosts that hang around a graveyard for an extended period of time. Although, from their perspective, it may not *feel* like they've been there as long as they have..but still, how depressing. Those who hang around the living would surely be a bit more cheerful, it would seem. But then again, maybe being around the living, constantly trying to get noticed would be frustrating as well. At least in a graveyard you're in mutual company

Maggpie, Ghost hunts are interesting!!

I went on one when we lived in San Francisco... it was all in this really nice, OLD, neighborhood....He took us all to several haunted houses, building (and streets!). It was really interesting..we didn't see anything. Or take any pictures (many did live in those houses, don't appreciate flash). But some of the people that live in the buildings came to talk of their experiences....SO Cool!
So Maggpie, great, neat pictures!

Laur, woah! that sounds so scary!!!

Roscosmom, haha I never thought of that!
