| Re: Obama - Biden Are you kidding? Obama runs a tight ship in his organization. No puppet/master thing going on here. Biden's the best choice to counter the things McCain will be attacking him on. Obama ain't no Dubya...he actually knows his stuff. |

| Re: Obama - Biden LOL, I'm just letting you know how it LOOKS. The fact is, Obama has NO foriegn policy experience and a VERY innocent veiw on how the military and president interact (that's an understatement). Biden is the former chair of the DNC and many think Obama is a puppet for the DNC. |

| Re: Obama - Biden I agree with both of you, sort of. Obama is running the show, but he is teribly inexperienced. He only knows his stuff when he is reading it off a telapromter. His foriegn policy is niave and idealistic and his domestic policy will grind a slow economy to a hault. I would not vote for either of them if there was a conservative running, but all thru the many, many debates of the primary season I just kept thinking how much smarter Biden was than any of the front runners. (Obama, Clinton, Edwards) With the little amount of time he would get in the debates he always seemed on top of the issues and seemed very presidential in general. I never could figure out why he never gained traction. I thought way back then that Biden (the older, experienced statesman) and Obama (the young up-and-comer) would have been a good ticket for the democrats.
Who knew back then that it would be the reverse.
I don't think Obama is a puppet for the DNC, but he is certianly their chosen one. |

| Re: Obama - Biden I don't really care to discuss politics generally. I have my opinions and that's that... I'm a Democrat...by saying that everyone knows who I'm voting for....lol
However, I have to say that I was surprised that Obama chose Biden. Personally, I like Biden. However, he does have a tendency to get...angry about some issues. I can see that as something some people wouldn't like about him though. |

| Re: Obama - Biden Agree with MDawn. I am certainly not changing my vote, but I was a little surprised.
Anyway, as a citizen of the Commonwealth of Virginia, we were all a bit disappointed that Gov. Kaine was not the Chosen One, but talk about inexperienced... |

| Re: Obama - Biden I certianly do not think the VP picks will change anyones vote. I think the only possible issue would be for McCain to choose a pro-choice VP. That would certianly hurt him by causing conservatives to just not vote. No one votes the second spot on the ticket. If he picks a pro-life conservative woman it MAY have a small amount of influence swaying democratic women who abortion rights are lower priority to move to McCain. Many of them are still upset about Clinton and don't really like Obama. If he picks a pro-choice woman he will lose more of his base than he converts from the dems. |

| Re: Obama - Biden Wow...I promised myself not to get into any more political "discussions" on this forum (in case you didn't notice, I took about a month off from this forum because I couldn't take being here anymore)...
but I just want to say...
how can you expect nations like Iran and North Korea to stop their activities to develop nuclear weapons when we have by far the world's biggest stockpile? They see the US as a THREAT for pre-emptive attacks (and thanks to Dubya, we now have a history of pre-emptive attacks). How can you expect Russia to destroy their nukes when we refuse to destroy our nukes?!?! http://www.nrdc.org/nuclear/nudb/datab19.asp
As you can see, we have by far the most nuclear weapons in the world. Russia is by far the second, and both McCain and Obama pledge to continue Bush's plan of helping to fund Russian disarmament: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...oryId=92880494
I will never ever ever even remotely be able to comprehend anyone who thinks that the whole world should disarm EXCEPT the U.S. Seriously, some of you make me sick. |

My question to you is, if we disarmed, do you think everyone else will? I think what Obama was trying to portray is that we should set the example and completely disarm, and everyone else will follow. Do you really think Korea will disarm? How about Russia? Iran? |

| Re: Obama - Biden Other nations WILL NOT disarm because we do! It's extremely Naive to think that, and just ONE example of Obama's inexperience.
The fact is, if we disarm they will continue to devolop Nuclear weapons and will take advantage of our weakness. Like it or not, N. Korea and Iran are STILL hostile to our existance, they would like nothing more than to see the US weak so it can be destroyed. Weapons strength is what keeps other nations listening to us and off our soil.
Yes it would be nice to be able to ge rid of Nuclear weapons, I think the world would be a better place without them.Hwever it would go against everything we know about Human Nature nad hte nature of greed and powermongering to expect others to do the same. |

| Re: Obama - Biden Zoe, I'm not sure why think US, Russia or any other major power would or should dissarm. It is the fact that different sides have power that keep anyone from using it. If we dissarmed the entire world would be less safe and if everyone else was dissarmed but us, we would have too much power. The problem is that certian countries leaders are not worried about the fallout (no pun intended) and have objectives that would suggest they will use nukes if they get them. It is in the worlds best interest to make sure they do not get nuclear capability.
Also the scary part about Obamas message is not just dissarming nukes, but it sounds as if he wants to gut the military and military spending and investment in future technology that will continue to make our country and our soldiers safer.
Also I still do not understand why you get upset having the disscussion. You are entitled to your views, and I am also. I won't convince you and you won't convince me, but there are lots of people reading that may never post. Don't you want them to get different sides of the discussion. |
