| Movies you found inspiring? This is for movies that moved you at your core, reached your heart and inspired you in some way.
Im watching one right now, Ive seen it before and I still get pumped at the heart shown in the documentary Murderball. If you watch the movie you can see the difference in Kieth when he finaly faces the fact that he is a guadrapaligic and when he is introduced to wheelchar rugby, it is amazing. Youtube link to trailer for Murderball.
Another is "the Pursuit of Happyness" with Will Smith, based on a true story. No matter how bad things got he still fought to make things work for, at first his family and then himself and his son. He didnt ask for a handout he asked for a chance to prove himself, something I think alot of Americans have forgotten how to do. Youtube link to trailer.
Another documentary I found inspiring is "Michael Moore Hates America" a film by Michael Wilson. Mike Wilson basicaly copies Mr Moore's "Roger and Me" by following Mr Moore around the country trying to get an interview, but at the same time showing what is great and not so great about about Americans and America rather then showing them in the worst light possible. Youtube link trailer.

| Re: Movies you found inspiring? I really liked Murderball. Those with On Demand through Comcast Cable may find it available for viewing right now.
Other movies I'd classify as inspirational are, Gandhi, Rudy, Radio, Saving Private Ryan, Amelie, Whale Rider, Braveheart, Life is Beautiful, E.T., Rocky, and Prefontaine. |

| Re: Movies you found inspiring? I get inspired by weird things and there isn't really a movie as a whole that sticks out to me. It is more the little parts here and there that you tuck away in the back of your mind to puzzle over later.
Just little things, little quotes, little sayings. I pick them out of music lyrics, video game storylines, and books too. |

| Re: Movies you found inspiring? The Piano - just beautiful, Into the Wild, The Last Trapper - bad acting, but interesting lifestyle en beautiful nature and dogs. I'd like to see the movie Solo, based on the book, but that one hasn't been made yet. Also, Braving Alaska will hopefully once be added to the list, but I can't find it here in Holland... |

| Maybe you should use Mike Wilson's film instead of Mr Moore's film to show stratification.

| Re: Movies you found inspiring? South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut
It's not so much that the movie itself was inspirational, but that two foul-mouthed, potty-brained stoners could make a movie with so much insight on social problems of our times. It's really like a foul-mouthed, potty-brained Aesop's fable.
More seriously...
The Harry Potter movies. Now, I do get a little depressed because I never got a letter saying I was a witch, well... not in that way, anyway. But I love that they have the underlying theme of the misfit, the underdog, who does good things. I love Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for the same reason. I guess being an unpopular nerdy kid who got picked is something that stuck with me as I grew up. Ok, so I probably won't ever defeat an evil dark lord or save Christmas, but I like to think that I do good with my life, even if the closest to being magical is my uncanny "Name That Tune" skillz. |
