| Earthquake! It just happened and it was a really loooong, rolling one. The epicenter was Chino Hills, CA and it registered a magnitude 5.6. Anyone else feel it? All you Californians okay? |

It scared the crap outta me! Because it was really long, and sorta scary. I could stand still and the walls would shake like crazy.

| Re: Earthquake! I work in Ontario so i felt it pretty good! I was upstairs on a ladder and thought it was a truck passing by. When stuff started falling from the shelves, i realized it wasn't a truck so my next challenge (in my head) was figuring out how I'm getting down this ladder, down the stairs and make my way out of the building. Well by then - the shaking had stopped but hey, i managed to get down from the ladder
I HATE EARTHQUAKES!!! but we're all ok - glad to hear you guys are doing good too. |

| Re: Earthquake! This is actually the first earthquake I've felt since living in my current house and my first thought was for the tv. We have a new, big screen plasma that we haven't bolted to the tv stand yet and I had visions of heroically holding it up while the house fell down around me.
Surprisingly, it did not come to that. |

Surprisingly, it did not come to that. | I work in construction.
I would not be surprised if the very surface of earth opened up big enough to swallow your house whole, only to find out your house was earthquake-code to float in event of that.
Earthquake building codes is crazy in CA.
And.... check to make sure you have straps on your water heater. |

| Re: Earthquake! IM ALIVE!! wow! That was so much fun today....
My work is only 4-6 miles from the epicenter so it was a really neat ride... I almost got taken out by a flying soda can...
Knocked dry goods off shelves and sloshed fish/turtle tanks.
A couple of more seconds and it would have been a BIG mess tho.
at home my SO jumped up and had to think quick about which fish tank to save lol |

well mine at home have custom stands so they are lower to the ground so they are less likely to tip. But i should look into straps anyway..
At work however there are 90 gal tanks stacked up to the ceiling. My boss came out and looked at them and said, hmmm, we should probably strap those to the wall..... |
