We went to the beach the day after which was yesterday... boy was it screwed up. Beach Erosion... is amazing... and this was only a Cat 2

The beach was flatter than I have EVER seen it. The sand dunes were just sliced like butter by the water... you can see how far the water went up and what it did

Re: Pictures of the Hurricane hitting and mess...

Where james is standing... the water cut through the beach and practically cut it in half... we had to drive around a kind of lagoon that it made to get to the other side...

more later

Nice pics and vid. I can't believe how high the water is! I don't think my grandma's toyota corolla could go through that or my ford ranger.

Buoy that was washed up...

The lagoon made it hard for people to get to the other side of the beach... this guy ended up staying there! When the tide came in, the water was in the middle of his doors...

You're not supposed to drive through RUNNING water....even 6 inches can move your car and then you're in trouble. A local guy tried to drive through some running water a couple years ago when the river flooded....not very high water, less then a foot.....they found his body a week later, several miles downstream . I guess you could drive through standing water, though, as long as your car can do it without flooding. Their Jeep---fine. My Honda Civic---not so much .
