Well you saw the happy dance moving thread...now for the problem. My cable company is being a bunch of @$$ clowns about it.
Since it's a new house they don't have the address in their system, they said they don't know when they can come out to install my cable...so no internet! What kind of crap is that? Oh your address isn't in the system so we won't even go there even though all the wiring is finished and connected...GAH!
I know better, I worked for the cable company at one point in time...and NO, it doesn't work that way...so hence the @$$ clown naming of said company (Time Warner).
So I'm going to try to go with DSL and dump the cable nazi's! We'll see, but it could still be a week or two or a month or who knows

Call direct tv. All you need is a good southern sky. We ran into this when we moved here- and direct tv was a God sent. You can get your internet as well and installation is free.

My local library has free internet, and they're dog freindly (my pooch's stay pretty quiet). So if you really miss us.....

I actually have dish network for TV, but they just got internet in my area.
Time Warner un-f' ed themselves and got my internet and phone in today.
I'm not allowed to mount a dish on the roof of the house so it's not the clear southern sky view (considering I can take out my neighbors living room window with a rock from mine) so I'm having problems getting TV in (I won't pay the cable rates up there, they are scary!) they are going to put in a tri-pod tomorrow sometime and see what they can do from there, so hopefully I'll have animal planet back...but otherwise I'm happy that i have internet!

Weird thing, the modem and all that junk goes in the closet with the vacuums, and they have eithernet and phone jacks in every room of the house that I can connect into to run off the modem. Very strange but it works beautifully...I can walk upstairs and hardwire right into my laptop or go in the living room and do the same.

We weren't allowed to mount our dish on the roof either, but DN was able to mount our dish to the side of our apartment...soooooo...that might be an option for ya too

Yeah the ycame out and looked at it, but we're not allowed to mount to the fence, side of the house, roof...it has to be independent. So they ordered a tri-pod, we'll see how good that works because it's going to have to go in the back yard...I really doubt it's going to work well wit hthe dogs and kids running around out there.
