| Ebay Im trying to bid on a Pokemon card on ebay (yes, Im a Pokemon card collector, I dont buy many anymore but I really want to get my most favorite card). One person is selling a bunch of cards (including a bunch of first editions) with the starting bid of 99 cents! It includes the card I want, but I noticed it has a reserve price on it (A reserve price is a price the seller puts in and if nobody bids up to that price the seller does not need to sell ). I asked her what the reserve price was, it was $199.99!!! Ok, I dont want that them.
Does anybody buy or sell on ebay? I have only bought concert tickets once before and thats it (no selling anything either). |

Only reason I have Paypal is for a couple of paid subscriptions on a gun site and an offroad site. |

The original holographic Charizard. It's called the rarest of them all (especially the 1st edition, which I will NOT be getting, I dont have $90 to be spending on a 1st edition). When I was in elementary school I wanted that card so bad, I brought my cards to school and traded with friends. I had a paper my sister printed out for me telling me what was a fair trade and what wasnt. I practically threw that out the window for this one trade, this one card. For a holographic Charizard, my favorite pokemon at the time. That little kid wouldnt trade me, I was going to give him 10-15 cards with 3-4 holograms being in there just for the Charizard. He refused. Of course, I never got one in a pack, they are rare.
Bluedawg, what is there firearm policy? |

| Re: Ebay I have a few first editions, but I only ever bought one pack. The rest I got from cousins and my brothers, who all stopped caring before I did. My favorite is my holographic brok's ninetails, very cool looking, probably worth nothing lol. So SLK, what do you make of all the newer pokemon? I stopped collecting after that, seemed kind of even more pointles when you had to collect all 543-544-545... |

| Re: Ebay The newest pokemon, HA! I dont even want to call them pokemon, they look like robots! Geez, talk about not having anymore ideas. I absolutely LOVE the show, if only I got that channel on my tv (antenna). I like the older ones the best, as long as Ash is in it Im happy (usually). I stopped looking at the new versions and new pokemon after the ruby and sapphire versions came out, they were the last good versions. The pokemon just keep getting weirder and weirder. I like pokemon that look like animals not metal machines.
The cards, I stopped getting a long time ago but I still buy a pack occasionally if it looks interesting.
Actually, I think I saw some new games that looked interesting. Fire red or something with the word ranger in it, lol, I cant really remember but it looked good (Hmm, did it have a Charizard on it? ). |

| Re: Ebay I collected Pokemon cards for a long time when I was younger. I actually joined a Pokemon League a few years ago and learned how to play. It was awesome. Since then I seem to have lost my huge binder filled with all of my cards(I had tons...). I have suspicions that my ex-friend stole them. I really wish I still had them, I loved just looking through them sometimes. I've thought about restarting my collection, but that'd just take too long and cost too much to be worth it. :\ Oh well.
The shows aren't very good anymore, I agree, but the most recent game was still great, and I love looking at the art on the new cards(pretty much the only reason I ever really collected them, lol). |

| Re: Ebay I've bought and sold on ebay. I've been a member for probably 5 years? and in that time I've only been burned once. I bid on a name brand item and was sent a cheap knockoff. I ended up keeping it and giving it away because it was such a hassle. months of trying to deal with the dispute. The only thing I was refunded was the $60 shipping costs through UPS because they charged her with mail fraud. Unfortunately most of the time the buyer will be stuck paying shipping and return shipping costs if they get refunded the cost of the item itself.
You do have some protection through ebay and paypal, but you have to be careful anyway. Never buy from someone that has negative feedback. One negative feedback in the last 6 months I might let slide because there are some doofuses on ebay, but there are sellers that manage to hide negative feedback by selling mass quantities of items with no problem or making a fake account and selling to themselves and then they stick the unsuspecting buyer with some kind of scam (either not sending the item or item not as described etc). The buyer wonders why they got scammed by someone with 95% positive feedback. It's only when they look at their feedback in detail that they'll see this person has like 10 negative feedback in the last 3 months. I made that mistake only once.
For sellers it's a bit more risky. I HATE the changes they made to feedback. Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers. Well how the heck do we find out who is going to scam us?? The person can say they never got an item and unless you pay $20 for the cheapest shipping with delivery confirmation (shipping in canada is ridiculous) you have no proof that they got it and they can get their money back!

| Re: Ebay We use to ebay a lot until we brought a telescope on there. Seller said it was "brand new" "clean" and kept in a safe place to prevent dust. It came in the mail covered in cat hair, dust, and dirt and the moder was broken. We paid $400 (new was over $700 but the $400 was in the price range of every other one going on ebay at the time) and we ended up getting $250 back (what they weren't able to take out of paypal yet).
Then on top of that my fiancé's credit card was stolen via paypal when it was hacked and we said "NO MORE" luckily we could prove that we were NOT in Hawaii in the past week and we never traveled into London over the past 2 weeks. $1000 in video games (which was the reason it wasn't caught was because we bought a lot of games online) Stupid ebay... |

| Re: Ebay I've used eBay off and on for at least 10 years now, buying and selling. No major problems. Once we got sent a Playstation game instead of an XBox game, but including shipping, it was under $5, so not worth the trouble to try to get our money back. |

| Re: Ebay I buy and sell on eBay every once in a while. I've bought some used and refurbished electronics there, as well as a couple of pairs of cowboy boots. I've sold some collectibles that I no longer wanted to collect and some car accessories that didn't work in my car. In general it works well for me. |

I have bunch of originals that I don't do anything with anymore. I'd have to find them, but your welcome to them....I no longer collect. I don't have a holographic Charizard, but I do have a holographic Blastroise! Don't know if it is anything special, but I like it.
I've bought three things off of ebay, all Final Fantasy VII related (the game and two soundtracks). Great experiences for two of the buys, but one of the soundtracks I didn't want. I had ordered the soundtrack I wanted and after waiting almost two weeks for the idiotic guy to ship it he sent me the wrong CD. But I decided to keep it because 1.) I did like the songs on it and 2.) the CD that was sent to me was more expensive than the one I ordered. |
