| Re: This was on the news Could it be that he was underneath the truck to get his spare tire out?
Our trucks had the spare tire storage underneath the bed. |

I forget that it's spread out so far over the years.
I've been here since 1948 when the population of Phoenix was 50,000; not the 4 million it's grown to be now. |

| Re: This was on the news I fail to see how he got crushed because I thought vehicles were raised to where a person could belly crawl under them. If he was under it and the jack fell, wouldn't it just scare him and not crush him? Unless he was under the tire. |

| Re: This was on the news Nope. It's an S-10 pickup. Close to the ground already, on top of being lower because it's 2x4. If the suspension mechanicals were worn out (which I would wager cuz it looks like a 90-94ish), the truck coming down from added height of a jack would cause enough compression to probably destroy vital organs. If you stomach the video, you can see it looks like the guy was under the driver door. Which adds engine and drivetrain weight into the equation. Had he been under the rear, the heavy end would not have been directly over him... That sucks. |
