| Re: Bree's Paddock Shelter under construction. Me Too V. Mom's not so sure. I'm thinking some of Bree's behavioral issues a coming partly from not being around other horses. She NEEDS a buddy to teach her some manners. That's part of my specific needs list. A horse that gets along well with other horses.
Not submissive, a natural leader. Ya don't think I'm asking for much eh? |

I 100% agree about another horse teaching her manners, they are the best at it sometimes. She is at the 'testing' age, and having another horse get after her(obviously no more correcting then what she need) will help a lot.
Rhiatta was great with Tex at that age. He got after him enough where Tex figured out the behavior was not appropriate, but did not hurt him.
Can't wait to see horses 2 and 3 |

| Re: Bree's Paddock Shelter under construction. Thanks RC. I am TRYING to tell my mom this.
She is doubtful and thinks I'm just trying to come up with excuses for a new horse. (Would I do that?)
Her behavior is not as good as it was when she first came. I know if I could find a good dependable horse for her to buddy around with. Not only would she get the socialization, she would be able to see us interacting, AND I would be able to get her more exercise as well, by bringing her along on rides. She could do with some lead work and also get some gravel under her hooves. They look good, but a little wear and tear would get them in even better shape.
Not speed work, just walking and trotting. |

We're getting a peak.
The cross beams are up.
Plenty of room to stay dry.
Water's getting low. I'm torn between gettig some rain, and getting the shelter done before the rains come. |

| Re: Bree's Paddock Shelter under construction. Juan makes me SO nervous. Better me than him I guess.
He really has no fear. terrifies me.
It's been threatening to rain here all day. It was just sprinkling actually.
I'd REALLY like to get the roof on first though |

Lol, Juan really is daring. My dad and I can be like that as well - always used freak my mom way out when I was younger |

| Re: Bree's Paddock Shelter under construction. Thanks guys. I can't take the credit really, I just tel Juan I want this and this and this, and he figures out how to make that happen. My personal genie.
It rained .035 of an inch last night, but that just took the dust out of the air really. Still huge cracks in the ground.
I'm also waiting on a truckload of sand to be delivered so we can begin filling the main paddock area while I'm figuring out the design of the rest.
Maybe I'll get some good ideas driving through horse country in Canada and the States next month. |
