I don't see how anyone can even get a grasp of how big that tank is from the photo. That tank is over 100g, and if you understand a giant gourami, its basically a giant betta. My mom gave me that pineapple, i took it out years ago, they just bat it around. I can't have any ornaments or plants, she eats them. |

| The way we was able to tell the tank is to small is from the picture you can tell how tall and wide it is and it appears to be the same height and width of a 55g tank. A 100g tank is just longer than a 55g. Even then there are a few to many large fish in the tank. Even if the gourami is an air breather it still poops in large amounts as does the common pleco and the other large fish in the background. |

| Re: Random Pic thread. Post yours. Its the angle of the photo. The tank is 6ft long.
I sell animals as well as tanks for a living and have kept fish for over ten years, I have kept most every fresh water and saltwater species and bred many species . I can the difference between tank sizes thank you.
Anyone who knows anything about fish will know, If there was an issue with the water quality and the tank size the fish would have have been ill or died many YEARS ago. Jigantor has no signs of lateralline irregularity, and has never been had illnesses which shows up when a tank is too small. I've had this fish since it was an inch long.
The silver dollars in the photo are over ten years old. Everyone else is about five or six. Incorrectly kept fish die or develop severe deformities and then die very quickly.
The waste issues most people have with their tanks are due to ignorance, insuficient filtration and severe overfeeding. Fish produce alot of waste because people feed them too heavy, and not correctly.
Thanks for your concern but I'm not new to this. |

That photo always illicits negative comments and i guess im just touchy about it. Many people are against the keeping of large species by anyone other than them. Its not bad to keep clean..... now the pond on the other hand.... |

| Re: Random Pic thread. Post yours. Perhaps you wouldn't have to deal with it if you posted a full tank shot. I'd love to see it.
Here's pics of my tanks,
55g (I had more fish, but have had water quality issues and once I get it fixed I will replace them),
Long 20g (only one of the tiger barbs from these pics is still alive. I've replaced them,
