| oh come on! so dh just called me and was telling me about a "Tiger Cruise"
they let people onto the ship the last couple days of the deployment to ride into port with them. but spouses and girlfriends and the like aren't allowed to go (for obvious reasons)
so i'm sitting here thinking to myself that this is the stupidest thing ever/very unfair. so i'm suppose to wait a couple extra days to see my husband so that they can take the time to pick up aunts and uncles and parents instead of sending the sailors home sooner to their wives and kids?
stupid stupid stupid and now i'm just really upset that i could see him eariler, but no...they think we're gonna sneak off somewhere and mess around so i'm not allowed to go and i have to wait to see him.
and oh, if he wanted to have someone go on the tiger cruise with him, they'd have to travel here, then we'd have company staying with us right when he gets back from being gone for 6 months and i am NOT dealing with company after not seeing my husband for that long

| Re: oh come on! D&CMom,
I feel your pain, You'll have to insist on going on the dependents cruise, which is open to everyone. BTW, the Tiger cruise usually doesn't add on to the time, they load the dependants at the last stop before home (here it's in Hawaii and 5days, there I think it's from Bermuda or the Bahamas). |

| Re: oh come on! gah, i'm getting attacked on my military forum. people saying things like
"this isn't the first tiger cruise that has ever happened and other wives have been in the same situation...blah blah blah" pretty much telling me i'm stupid for not knowing about it, and being upset about it.
ok, next time someone vents about their SO deploying i'll tell them
"well it's not like other wives haven't had their husbands deploy" see how they like it.
yes, i'm in a bad mood tonight. sorry.
also, buddy's limping. he won't jump on the couch. he fell backwards trying to jump up on the bed today. every time i moved him last night while we were sleeping he let out a cry. i've never heard him cry so much in one day. nothing's broken, nothings bleeding. maybe he pulled a muscle or something. i dunno.
but it's been one pretty crappy day. |

| Re: oh come on! Ugh, what a bunch of bags!!!!! It's not like everyone just 'knows' these things! I guess that's why, for the most part I avoid the so called support groups and many of the other mil wives, especiually fellow O wives. I can't stand the snobbery and cliques. |

| Re: oh come on! Sorry you didn't get the support you needed from your support site D&CMom.
It's strange that you ladies should say that about the military wives support sites. I'm a member of a pilot SOs support site and I only visit very rarely for the reasons you just stated, Carla. The veteran members are snotty and cliquey and disdainful of anyone who makes a complaint about anything. There seems to be this feeling among them that, if we really loved our pilots, nothing would be too hard to handle! I feel like some of them enjoy turning themselves into ever-patient martyrs.
It's okay to not be a cheerleader every day. Sometimes things just SUCK! Tell Buddy to feel better. |

| Re: oh come on! Yep, like right now my guy has missed his deployment because he had to have surgery on his back (ruptured disk). So I've been working full time, taking care of him (with the help of my 16 yr old daughter) and taking care of the kids and animals. I have YET to hear anything from the other spouses on the ship or get an offer of help. I don't 'fit in' with the other O wives because I can't make their 'Teas' because of my work schedule. |
