Hey Chrissy!! Weekend was okay-spent it with the future inlaws, how great could it be? Hit a major snowstorm and of course we took the car instead of my Jeep and I had to drive 3 hours in the snow and thhe other half drove the Uhaul-wasn't real fun-oh- and the mother in law rode with me and my girly-good enough visual for ya??? Ughh...get these bad memories out of my head!!

Whats the weather like there? We went from getting 9 inches of snow Friday to a warm 65 today- WTF? Wish it would just stay warm already-I am really getting sick of this white stuff!

I've spent most of the day dazed and drugged -- either coming down with something or food poisoning (I've never had food poisoning before, so I'm not sure which). If it's food poisoning I did it to myself -- that's what I get for trying to make homemade crab cakes for the first time.

Not yet -- I'm picking up some Otocinclus on Thursday or Friday (a small, delicate algae eater that my local fish store finally ordered)...they actually came in today but I'm giving them a few days to get adjusted, in case any die off from transfer stress. My big order from Drs. Foster & Smith should be in later this week, then I have to order in all my live plants since they aren't carried locally. Plus I'm not sure how long it will take for my tank to cycle...[/stops self]

yeah, rambling again, lol. The furniture is all moved around to best accommodate the tank though

Do you know what tank/size you are getting? Or what fish you like? Haha I'm so excited to get my new tanks up and running!

EDIT: the otos are going in my current 10 gal to fatten up while I get their eventual home (the 29 gal) set up

Yup, it's been a good week so far!

I'm not sure if they are fragrant. I have a lot of fragrant plants this time of the year so it's hard to smell them individually.

Ok. The SO is coming back tonight. We're going to work things through. We saw how miserable we were apart and I couldn't even see him without crying. He's playing softball right now, but he will be back soon and I am very excited!!

My parents are the BEST parents in the world. Let me give you a visual. Pull up a seat.

My dad picked up Kody and then had to go back for Chance. Chance was in the garage because he and my dads lab don't get along, and he ATE the WIRE for the garage door opener, and the MOLDING for the door into the house. We tried to let the lab and Chance meet but my brothers gf was holding the lab (who is really her dog, long story) and she kept tensing up sp he (Rossi) kept going after Chance.

WELL:

My dad wants so bad for me not to get evicted, he has created his own doggy daycare for me. We cleared out the side yard of his house, and secured the gate that leads to the backyard. Every day I work, I will drop them off, and they will stay on the side of the house, and when Erik gets off work (5 hrs or so later,) he will pick them up and take them home.

Lets count, shall we?

My dad has a lab mix, Rossi and a chihuahua, RJ (Rossi Jr) Theyre both my brothers gfs dogs, they both live there too:


My dog, Bailey, lives there now because I can only have the 2 dogs at my apartment:


And NOW Kody and Chance will be there Monday, Tuesday, and Fridays from 10am until around 3 or 4pm.



So its my mom, my dad, my brother, his girlfriend, and 5 dogs in a 1800 sq foot house. Kody and Chance will be on the side yard but still. Lot of dogs....My parents are amazing

Oh and Dmama- thanks for the lottery story! I dreamt I won the lottery and then when I got to work I won a raffle of 300 bucks!!

It's always great to be able to count on your parents, isn't it?? mine are the same way and it is very comforting to know that I can go to them with anything!

Yeah, my parents have been there for me through everything! It was nice to show up at work and see a huge trophy sitting on my desk! But yeah that first picture is funny, and their ears really do that too! Rossi, the big one, only one of his ears goes up, and I think RJ learned the ear thing from him! Its cute!

Three months of no rain(seasonal so not a drought) hot(over 90*f most days), The ground gets so dry we get 1 1/2" cracks and it gets hard as a rock but if you pick it up it crumbles to powder, the doctor flies and horse flies(MFers are an inch long) are in season, We ONLY have rain water to use as wells can't be drilled in Marl, Bush fires (sometimes get so bad that the sun gets obscured by a yellow haze), ash floating around, the temps rarely drop below the high 80's even at night.... need I go on?

The fires aren't a concern this year as last may we were burnt out around all 360* of the property. Plus we've had a lot of rain even in this week so we're good on water supplies. We have over 600,000 gallons of water in our 3 ponds so we should be good but it's always a concern as just through evaporation we can lose up to 3000 gallons a week.

ETA:Jen I'm glad the rest of your day went better. Here's hoping tomorrow will be better too. Your parents sound amazing.

Ugh..Ya Know, seems no matter where people live there is always something to complain about weather-guess a person has to have 3 homes to move when the weather gets cucky and move to one of your liking!
