Something like that happened when I took Kody to Eriks softball game. A little 1 year old came up and GRABBED his face and he just loved on her! Quote:

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Well, Hanna's going to be rolling through New England tonight...nothing too severe but still several inches of rain and winds up to 50 mph expected overnight.
It's already raining, but I think we're going to suit up in our rain gear and go to the dog park for a good long run after dinner. I do love hurricanes, just not with my dog. |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Zoe isn't afraid of storms at all. She likes to sit in the window and watch lightning...I guess that's a result of her growing up on a busy street in the city with an above ground train rumbling by all day long...
Well the storm was nothing...some rain, but I don't even see a tree limb down. The winds weren't bad at all. |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Happy Sunday everyone!
FOZ, that is GREAT about the little girl and Zoe!
Mdawn, Happy to hear your Aunt is at least remaining stable. Hoping for more improvement with her.
SDO, Hope your mom had a great birthday! How is little Ella doing(and big boy Otis)?
Haven't been able to get on the internet for a few days, cut phone lines will do that to ya (long story)...at least the new fence is up.
Everything is going alright out here. Work is going really well too. My boss already spoke with me about cross-training me for a few other departments ,and the goal is January. Looks like I will have a more structured schedule that way as well.
Honestly, not seeing much from the TRX4(beyond maybe dropping the Lantus a unit down)...oh well, they say some people are just slower at seeing results. I also decided at my next Endo appointment in November I am going to ask about the pump. I am finding with work and everything, it would be much easier to deal with that then the shots. Sometimes I only have a 30 minute lunch break, and by the time I test and do my thing...grab my meal and sit down..I have 10-15 minutes left.
The dogs are doing fantastic. I don't know if you all remember me talking about switching them all over to NV Prairie a few weeks ago. There is a huge difference with them already.
Riley has put on 3, almost 4 pounds(went from 63 to 66 almost 67 pounds now), is not itching himself like he was...and even better, not uh...burping like before. He and Aspen blew their coats a few weeks ago as well, and their winter coats are starting to come in. His is turning out very luxurious(I say, too soon for that to be the new feed..but I am sure it is helping).
All of them have really nice firm stools on it, and LOVE it. They are all picky eaters, but eat great now!
Little Angel is doing spectacular. I absolutely love her, she is a hoot to own. At just 8 weeks old she knows sit on voice command alone, and will do it from a few feet from you...I videotaped her doing it, however, having issues transferring it to the computer. Once I get it sorted out I will post it. She is a sassy little thing. Very self-confident about herself, and honestly believes she is the center of the universe. She is very, very, full of it(and is quite the talker)... I was hoping for an outgoing personality like hers. I can't get over her intelligence, she is just like her momma. Picks up things very quickly, and just 'gets it'.
I have found having a young puppy, and D can be a bit difficult at times. Nothing like having a low, trying to treat it, and having her running around...what a balancing act.
Other then all of that, nothing new to report.
I hope you all are doing well! |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Hey RC! I haven't seen you in a while.
Glad things are okay, hopefully you'll see some more results soon. We need some more pictures of that little feisty one!
It's going to be puppy time real soon for me! Well not for me. But one of my best friends that is over all the time is going to foster one of the beagle/jack russel mixes from the rescue we went to. I wanted to, but she wants a little scruffy dog and this one and her just clicked.
So she's going to put in an app when we go back Monday night.
Also, my dad is very close to getting a dog. They are dogsitting my aunt and uncles dog this week because they are on a cruise. I think I mentioned this dog before. He is a golden named Sprockett and he is the MOST obedient dog I have ever met. My uncle will put him in a sit-stay and go around the corner, and come back and he is still sitting. One time he made him stay then went in the garage to grab something, got caught up out there and came back in 10 minutes later, the dog was still staying. They are happy to see what a well trained dog behaves like now that they got my brothers 2 out of there.
I didn't get a chance to take Kody to the vet yet for the warts in his mouth, but I did reschedule for Tuesday at 4pm. I had forgotten about a prior commitment yesterday that conflicted. But I did speak to the vet directly, who informed me that there isn't any way that I can transfer it to the dogs at the rescue, which is good. It can't survive in temperatures over I believe 85 degrees, so by the time I get to the rescue, it's already gone. But Kody will go in this Tuesday, and we will see if any need to be removed. The vet said that from what I described, white warts in his mouth, that he is sure it is COPV and is probably harmless. But I understand he still needs to see him to be sure.
Other than that, things are fine at home. It's obvious to me and anyone that comes over that the dogs are happy. Bailey looks SO good, shes down to 21 pounds. She was at 26 not too too long ago.
I tried beef liver with the dogs last night. After everyone saying how picky their dogs were when it came to liver I was a little nervous to try it, but the boys slurped it right up. bailey doesnt like it so I may have to get it a little more frozen, but the boys were jumping up and down wanting more! It was nice to see that something that will be so good for them, they also enjoy. |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... 4dogs, You don't realize how addicted you are to this site until you don't have internet access!! Doesn't it make you happy when your dogs are doing so well? Are you liking the RAW? Sounds like it is working great for your dogs! Way to go with Bailey and the weight loss!
Poor Cody and the COPV, I have never had an issue with that...I have heard about it though. How do they treat it?
Alright, I took a few pictures of Mister Riley...It will probably be hard for you guys to tell, as you really have to feel him to notice the difference.
However, I still feel like he looks a bit more full now with the extra 3-4 pounds he put on with the NV? Don't mind his coat right now...he just got done shedding like crazy, and his winter coat is coming in.
he was wagging his tail |

I know it takes 1-2 months to manifest, and if you count back pretty much exactly two months ago, its when I took him with me when Chance went to the vet when he was limping. (He had slipped and strained his hip.) Kody was howling a lot (pack mentality) and so they put him in the iso room. My best guess is be may have caught it there. The only way to really catch it is direct contact with a dog who has it, or being in that dogs environment, as the vet's office would have been. Quote:

Poor Cody and the COPV, I have never had an issue with that...I have heard about it though. How do they treat it? | I am so happy they are doing so well. I think they have finally settled into their routine because they are just so happy.
They are doing great on raw too! I have had lots of people try to stray me away from it, but as long as it works I will continue. I was a little confused on all the variety and I didnt think I would be able to give them the balance they need. But they LOVE beef liver, as well as chicken gizzards and hearts. I have tried to find other things to mix in. They were getting beef heart for a week or so mixed in and they liked it. So we're happy. |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... RC, thanks for the pictures of your dogs on NV Prairie. I have been looking for a venison-based kibble to put Spunky on, in hopes that a novel protein will help curb her allergies. Which one are they on? |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Thank you Reno and Chrissy ...Chrissy, his belly fur is definitely growing in beautifully, only took 7 months or so(but so thankful it seems to be back now)!
Rosemary, They are currently on the Lamb and Oatmeal one...their old kibble was Lamb and Rice, so I thought staying on Lamb as the protein would help the transition. I am going to eventually rotate with the other proteins they offer(dying to try the Salmon and Venison they offer). Overall, it has been an easy switch for them. I am definitely pleased with NV at this point. |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Thanks RC. I have been pulling my hair out trying to solve Spunky's allergies. I've probably lost almost as much hair as Spunky. :/
Boring Monday...managed to write and file all of one story. :P I think this week will be a quiet one in the newsroom, which is a GOOD thing after the last couple of weeks! I have been severely sleep deprived lately -- granted, that's not all the newsroom's fault; there were a couple of parties over the weekend -- but I cannotttt wait to hit the sack tonight. |

That's a long time! Eddie was neutered in June and they shaved him for it. It still hasn't grown back. He's still for the most part bald. I'm starting to think that it will never grow back. It looks ridiculous....lol
I haven't been around much lately. How has everyone been?? |

My internet is crappy with a signal that bounces around like crazy so I would always lag behind a little bit. Maybe I'll try it again sometime. I miss all of you guys!!
Have fun at the parade! Be sure to take lots of pics! |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Mdawn, it's true that there are quite a few of us in chat now, but I always like to check in on the thread. I'm guessing that once the weather gets bad, things will pick up again here.
I haven't been here the last couple of days - worked very late Tuesday nite and last night I was in bed very early trying to catch up on sleep.
Hope everyone is doing well. It's almost the weekend.. I can hear it coming... |
