RC, that is terrific news. Sounds like you're really doing an excellent job!
Today has really been "one of those days"... more like one of those weeks... work is getting super busy for some reason and I am drowning in it! Had to give up my weekly dogwalking session at the SPCA because I got scheduled for event coverage. Sigh.
I haven't been able to spend as much time with the dogs as I'd like and I think they're starting to act out because of it... last week there was the scare where they pulled the detergent box off the shelf, and yesterday I found that Spunky had taken this metal scouring thing from the same shelf and taken it to her bed to chew and sleep with. Normally, if something doesn't smell or taste anything remotely like food, you can't get them to give a hoot about it...I don't know why suddenly they are taking an interest in stuff on the shelves?? Is it because I haven't been giving them as much attention lately? Am I anthropomorphising here?
SDO!! So glad to see you are back, I have missed seeing your Otis updates. Ella is stunning, she looks like a sweetie
Thanks 4dogs and Rosemary. I was so happy to hear what my A1C was yesterday, I really needed the reassurance I was doing everything alright.
Rosemary, I am sorry to hear about the busy last week, and Spunky finding new chew toys(it may be lack of attention, however, I do think some dogs just like to chew...on anything). Hopefully, everything slows down a bit, and your week gets better.
4dogs, how is everything going your way?
Just came home from the store. I swung by after work to get a few quick things. Guess who comes home next week? Little Angel. I picked up a new collar for her, and some Earthbath puppy shampoo...I have heard good things about it.
So far, so good with the NV. Continued to mix it in with their old kibble today, and it is still a hit. I can't wait to see how they do once they have been on it for awhile.
RC that's great to hear. So glad you're doing well. Yay about Angel
RMN I read back and saw about you accident. Glad you didn't get hurt. That must have been so scary.
How is everyone else? WHERE is everyone else?
OH annnnd we have a TS out there in the Caribbean. It (so far) doesn't look like it's coming for us but alla youse up there on the gulf coast watch out kay?
Just thought I would drop in and say hi! I've been off DF for a few weeks. Things have just been really busy. In a nutshell it's peak season at work, I'm looking for a new job, and Jeff and I are trying to move to Sacramento sometime soon. To top it off, yesterday my grandmother went into cardiac arrest. It took over 15 minutes to get her heart restarted and things don't look good. So the last 24 hours have not been happy. If you guys could send some prayers and positive thoughts her way that would mean the world to me.
On a positive note, both Payton and Max are doing great and still growing like weeds. I'm going to try and get some recent pictures of them up soon. It all just depends on how things go with my grandma.
I hope you all are doing great and I miss you all! SDO congrats on Ella, she is beautiful! Hopefully, if things cool down I can come back soon!
RC -- I use Earthbath's creme rinse conditioner on my dogs and I love it. It smells sooo good and I have noticed their coats getting a lot softer since about a month+ after I started using it.
SDO, Ella is so adorable, that puppy face... I love that picture of her and Otis sniffing each other's noses. She's barely the size of his head.
Volleyball, really hope your grandmother is okay... my thoughts are with you and your family.
Random happening...today one of my students clicked his pen top, it flew off and hit the whiteboard and then flew into another student's face... everyone is ok but I thought it fit into the "one of those days" category.
Chrissy, For you....since you were dissapointed you couldn't be at the Keith Urban Concert. Found a few You Tube videos of him from that night. Enjoy
p.s. He had a slipped disk and told the crowd he may not 'move' quite like he normally does(showed the T-brace on his back as well). He was definitely didn't move too much, but he still gave the crowd a great concert:
Danielle! So glad to hear you are doing well..I literally was jumping up and down on my chair when I heard the news. And thanks for that good dose of Keith Urban..Niiiceee.....
Chrissy! You rode Fred! YEAY! So, do we get pics???? As for that Hurricane..Im huffing and a puffin and gonna try to get it to go somewhere else. Hopefully that thing will just dissipate.
Allison...That was funny...Poor kid!
Rosemary...I bet you have been busy!! I am sure your dogs will forgive you for being busy..Thats why I love them so.

Re: Ever have one of those days...
Happy Friday everyone! Great Friday Dance Reno!
Guys, I am sick. I have a really bad sore throat and stuffed up nose..I don't know what to do. I took my antibiotic this morning..like 30 min ago..along with two aspirins...I'm still hurting. What do I do?? I have to go to school..like this..today to check my classes...UGH.
I'm so sorry Ali, and I sure hope you get through the day. Remember, you have a long weekend coming up so try to push through and then you get plenty of rest this weekend okay?
Hey everyone else...so I almost got banned yesterday for having an argument with a certain moderator...and yet I still can't stay away from those political threads...it wouldn't be a problem if at least one other liberal person would say something on them...but I feel like I HAVE to at least put up a mild defense! It will be my downfall, I swear.
Well, I will try to stay away. You guys can be my support group and keep me away from the political threads, okay?

Re: Ever have one of those days...
Thanks FOZ, yeah I am going to try to get better all of today...just to go to school, then this weekend with be restful.
Aw man, Im sorry to hear you got banned. Sad what a difference of opinions can do..
I will help in your support group, I've been there, so definitely don't get yourself banned...pweaseeee? It IS hard tho...
Yikes FOZ... it's times like these I'm glad I only have half an idea of what's going on in the US elections.
iwantmypup, so sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather. Lots of sleep and lots of water is the best cure for anything, so just try to squeeze in as much of that as possible!
Sorry to hear that your not feeling well IWMP. Hope you get some rest and start to feel better soon.
Hi Digit!! Work is ok...my kid I work with has turned into a demon child again. . The people that I work with are amazing though. My arms and hands are pretty beat up from the last week and a half...My right hand is really sore and I have some swelling there so my co workers in my room have been dealing with this kids behaviors for the most part for the last two days. They are trying to give me a chance to heal up, which I really appreciate.
YEAH!! It's FRIDAY!! I don't think that I've ever been so happy about the weekend. I just really need a break for a few days.
Last night someone came to my house looking for their buddy (they had the wrong address). He had 2 very drunk girls with him who freaked my dogs out. Anyway, when he was trying to leave he got hung up in my drive way because he tried to 1) turn around in my yard which is on an incline and 2) the grass was wet from where it rained for 2 days. and finally 3) his car sat low to the ground. Put those together and he just spun his tires with his front bumper scraping my driveway. Like I said, my dogs did not like them in the least. Especially the drunkest girl who was stumbling around and even fell down. Uallis never left my side and had his "serious" face on. Eddie even growled at them a little, which surprised me. The guy told me that my dogs "scared" him but I told them that they won't bite "unless they have a reason to". (I'm so EVIL..hehehe ) and I didn't put them in the house. I wanted them with me because it was dark out and I was home alone...so I wanted them around when I had strangers outside my home.
Digit, How have you been?!? Sounds like things are going good your way?
Mdawn, Gotta love those big mastiffs, always protective. Happy to hear he was there, just in case!
Ali, I hope you feel better soon!
FOZ, Glad you weren't banned...stay away from the political threads, kay?!
Well, I am all ready for Angel,
Just need the pup and it is complete! The kennel has an option to block off the other half. I put it in to try it out.
I am a nerd. I usually get the collies 'vibrant' collars as pups...then they graduate to normal rolled leather collars. Since you can't see their collar once they are full grown with a coat...I have fun when they are pups LOL...tried to get her food bowl in too. I couldn't resist when I saw it. Apparently, she is a very 'lady, lady' kind of puppy, and prefers to not play rough. I thought it would fit her hehe
