Actually, I've been having some cravings for Strawberry Shortcake...YUM!! I'm going to the store tomorrow after my meeting to get the stuff to make it because I just can't take it any longer...lol
Semi-funny story I thought I'd share: My SO's mom threw some discarded squash up in our field...Well now we have squash growing there...lol
Eddie got a hold of one and it's become his favorite "toy"...lol He's been carrying that squash around all day. He hasn't eaten any of it...just carrying it around with him. He was outside earlier today and my SO and his friend wanted to leave...so I called Eddie and said, "Eddie! Get your squash and come on!" My boyfriend's friend thought that it was hilarious. He's like, "A Squash? Why does your dog have a squash?"...I hope to take pictures tomorrow of Eddie and his favorite squash! He's a silly silly boy...he won't let Uallis anywhere near it...which is probably a GOOD thing considering Uallis would eat it and probably would eat the entire squash in one sitting...lol
Stupid question: Is squash something that you have to plant every year...or does it grow back every year without planting? I'm asking because I'd like to keep the squash plants...or whatever you call them.

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Morning All.
Off to see the horsie again to day.
And stopping at the pharmacy to pick up more drugs. Think I have either giardia (Beaver Fever) or amoebas.
Whatever it is I've had the shits for three weeks.
Also lost over ten pounds, but I wouldn't recommend this as a diet plan. |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Well, I'm back from Botswana and I think I gained the 10 pounds that Chrissy lost They sure do feed you a lot in the bush. It was definitely a trip of a lifetime.
It took 30 hours to get home from when we left the bush camp on Sun afternoon. Then I had to drive an hour and 15 min round trip to get Cherokee. It is so good to see my boy, I missed him.
Anyway, I am beyond exhausted and decided to take a quick look at this thread to catch up. I will be back when I get my own computer out of the fix-it shop tomorrow, and I have had a good rest.
I missed you all, oh and we didn't find the wild dogs though we spent hours tracking them. They had to move their den because one of the pups was eaten by a lion but, they are in the Mopani forest as evidenced by lots of tracks. If they had collars with jingly tags like Cherokee, we would have found them |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... since this post is called ever have one of those days.. i'm gonna share mine lol...
Started with me getting my hair stuck in Ozzy's collar (don't ask how)... I finally had to cut some of it out... all the while Ozzy whining and complaining because we were just about to head out for a walk. Then when I was at the supermarket, I dropped my keys. I picked them up but when I went out to my car later on, I realized I was missing the clicky thingy to un-alarm the car. So I had to haul my wagon back into the store and go up and down every aisle. Finally I found it, someone had put it on top of a bag of tortillas in the tortilla shelf thing! UGH! Then when I got the groceries home, I realized I left the 35 pack of bottled water I bought in the bottom of the cart... back at the store! grrrrr! I didn't bother going back. THen, as I was unpacking the groceries, I dropped the box of blueberries and they went rolling all over the floor! Luckily Ozzy was still in his crate. I was swearing up a storm though! Then after the blueberry debacle, I noticed that the tomatoes I had in the fridge were moldy, I was gonna use them for dinner!! GRRR again! So I decided to go back to the store and get tomatoes. The one good thing is that my water was still in the cart where I left it... lol. I showed the receipt to the guy and it was all good. Anyway, after I got tomatoes I went to my mom's to say hi and when I got there my dog (he's my childhood dog lives with my parents) pooped on the floor! He's old and does that.. but no one was around and I had to clean it up... lol. ARGHH! So at home i was sitting on the couch relazing and the phone rang.. when I went to get it, I dropped it and the battery flew across the room! Sigh. So now I'm home and wondering if I should just go to bed and put this day to rest too!
Re-reading this, it's kinda funny lol... but it wasn't when it was all happening! :P |

So...ONE more time...
MMM- Welcome back! I hope you had a fabulous time on your trip and hope you post LOTS of pictures!
SDO- Congratulations on setting a wedding date! I bet your really excited! Are you starting to get nervous?? I bet Abby's going to look SO adorable all dressed up! Does Otis get to have any part in the festivities..??
Hope you get you computer up and running again so you can get back to giving us Otis updates...We WILL need pictures of him when you do! lol
Started clicker training with Eddie and Uallis 2 days ago. It's already helped Eddie tremendously. He seems like he has a much better understanding of what the different commands mean. Like when I say, "Sit", he sits...as opposed to "Sit" means "Sit" and then "Down". He now knows that "Sit" means JUST "Sit". I feel like we are communicating with each other much better. He also gets less frustrated because he gets his reward much faster because he preforms much better.
Uallis, on the other hand, is taking a bit longer. We are STILL working on what the click means. He doesn't really understand that "Click" means "Treat". So we are still at square one of just rapid fire clicks and treats to get him used to the sound and WHAT it means. Eddie picked it up after only 3 or 4 times of just showing him what it meant. His brain works much faster than Uallis's. Uallis IS smart...it just takes him a little longer to 'get' things. I'm not discouraged though...I know that he'll figure it out. He doesn't have the focus and ambition that Eddie has. But Eddie also doesn't have the calm nature that Uallis has either...so it all evens out in the end...lol
Hope everyone has a happy Wednesday...we've reached the halfway point...it's not far till Friday...if we can just hold on a little longer. lol |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Allison - I do that...trying to break the habit though!
What a horrible day...I had a morning interview and from the looks of it, am going to be in the newsroom till 10 pm or so tonight. Yargh. Plus the weather is just awful. At least I got to have lunch with my boyfriend...who I barely get to see nowadays.
I had a huge scare last night. Got home to find all these hard red and white things scattered across the kitchen floor. I was wondering what they were. They almost looked like shards of raw bone. Then I found a ripped up cardboard box. It was labelled "Solid Detergent." I freaked. Meanwhile Spunky and Honey are looking as jolly as ever, getting underfoot and wondering what I'm going on about. Picked up all the pieces, grabbed the box and called the e-vet (it was late, and we have no poison control)... described the detergent to him and he said not to worry, give them some activated charcoal slurry. They were their usual selves the entire night...not a single symptom or sign of discomfort. I truly believe my dogs have iron stomachs now.
Now I am puppy-proofing ALL over again...it's so strange, the cleaning supplies have been on that same shelf for almost five years now and they've never shown the slightest bit of interest. Sigh.
A word of warning to you all: don't ever take your dog's housetraining for granted! Even though they've never shown interest in anything but their own toys for years and years, one day they might just decide to investigate your cupboards again...it could have been much worse and I am soooo lucky.
Edit:
Happy birthday Chrissy!!! I know timezones are messed up...but it's your birthday here
