| Re: Ever have one of those days... I'm fine. Just have a big red sore spot on the side of my neck and it hurts to swallow a little. I took Tylenol and Benadryl right away so that helped a lot. Slept about 3 hours at Mom's house on the couch and then she woke me up. Just went home to put on real clothes so I could go have coffee. |

SDO, have fun shopping!
Reno, I am VERY excited about Rhiatta being home . I just spent the morning fixing up his stall and putting fresh shavings down(Tex is a messy stall guy, and he was using rhiatta's stall for awhile), and I just came in after grooming him. I could be out there all day. I need to go pick up a new bit for him, I only have his old myler snaffle, but he is in a shank bit now. The particular bit I am looking for seems to be a hard find, I am pretty sure the place I am going to next will have it. |

That picture made me laugh as well. lol When I was in Montana, they told me that horses can only lay like that for about 20 minutes or so before they have to stand up again. As you can see, I know NOTHING about horses. I'd never heard that before. |

V, how is your week going?
Reno, I did find the bit I was looking for, although, doesn't look like I will be riding tomorrow. The rain we desperately needed decided to make an appearance today. It has been raining for the last two hours, and it looks like it may continue to drizzle for another hour or so.
MMM, I am sure you can't wait to pick her up, I imagine she will have a lot of camp stories to tell!
The scheduled date for the test study on the 23rd(well today) is not happening, however, it looks like they are going to try and move it up from the 11th-12th to the 4th of August. We will see though, I have lost faith in their scheduling abilities.

She pulled over and called my aunt who we were staying with and said, "I think all this guy's horses died! They're all laying down!" My aunt just laughed and said "They're hot, they're sleeping!" |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... SDO, great shot!
On a sadder note, I had a really bad night last night.
I killed a dog. Actually, I didn't kill it. Juan killed it. I authorized it.
It had to be done. It was someone's former pet left to go feral. He was neutered, and he threatened one of my customers walking to the bathroom in the restaurant yesterday at lunch. Then when I went out to chase him off he just about came after me. (I thought he was going to attack for a couple minutes) Walking home with Cassie last night at midnight he was hiding in the dark by my driveway barking threateningly at me and Cassie. It was obviously escalating and I just couldn't take the risk of one of the dogs (ours) or one of our customers being hurt. We get a lot of kids and have an outdoor playground.
So, I called Juan and he got the 12 ga. Loaded with 00 it's plenty for a dog. I made myself stay outside to hear the shot, and the dog's screams, then the second shot 5 seconds later, and the silence. Juan put a third in the head to make sure the dog wouldn't suffer at all. And I spent the rest of the night crying. Crying now. I'll probably be crying all week.
****ing people. I hate people who don't take care of their animals. This is around the 10th dog we've killed, and I get sick everytime. Why do I have to suffer for other **** wits? It really makes me mad. There's another dog. It's sick and lame. We haven't been able to catch that one yet, but when we do, I'll be sick for another week.
I am really glad I have Juan so I don't have to be the one to go out and do this. I could, but then I'd be sick for a month. Or else I'd snap, and start hunting irresponsible pet owners out of season. |

It sounds like it is a totally different place than here. I know it's hard not to feel bad, but you did what was best for you and the poor doggie (((HUGS))) Hope you never have to go through something like that again. |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... I'm so sorry Chrissy!!! Try not to be too hard on yourself. You did what had to be done...
SDO-- I loved that picture of Abby! She is just too adorable for words. She looks like a very sweet girl too.
Well, I had a okay day. It started out pretty bad but improved in the afternoon. This morning one of our kids bit another staff for NO obvious reason (I'm sure there was a reason to him but we don't know what). The staff member was really upset about it, I think mainly because it was so unexpected from this particular kid, as he is generally a very pleasant boy to be around. I think it hurt her feelings. Anyway, I took over for her as she was upset and deal with the behavior and ended up with claw marks all over my arm. They aren't serious wounds at all, just scratches really...but they BURN!! lol I really hate being clawed, I'd rather be bitten actually as I'm to the point that it doesn't really hurt me that much. But being clawed downright pisses me off...lol Then another one of our kids had a seizure...which I HATE seeing (obviously) as your helpless to do anything to help. It lasted about 45 seconds and the kid slept afterward. Also, this morning we had some aggression issues between 2 of the kids. One ran up to the other, who was laying in the grass and started kicking him repeatedly in the head. He suffered no injuries but was understandably upset and then acted out himself toward staff. UGH!! It has definitely been one of those days....I'm really glad its over now! |

MDawn, I have had a job somewhat like yours so, I really know your pain I retired when I had my own kids....
Chrissy, lots of people do what you did and have no remorse. Thanks for being the caring person that you are. I would dry your eyes for you if I were there.
Cherokee went to the old vet today and got his kennel cough. It went great and he got to see his best vet tech friend in the whole world. So, for those of you who have heard my drama, story over |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Chrissy, I'm so sorry you had to do that, but it was for the greater good. Poor little guy. Don't beat yourself up over it so much. You did that poor dog a favor. Most people wouldn't have been so kind.
Well, we MAY have fixed my car. I've driven it for 20 miles without any issues, but it normally acts up when its above 77 out and really humid, so until we have a day like that (it was 82 today no humidy) I can't say for sure. It only ended up costing me $379 *sighs* 4 new parts and still not 100% sure we have it fixed. I swear I'll shoot this darn car if it stalls out on me again...
We head out on Vacation tomorrow night/Saturday Morning at 3am, so I won't be on for a week/week in a half. There is just sooooo much to do, and so little time to do it in. I have to take Nubby to the kennel tomorrow, and I am honestly scared. I have NO CLUE how he will react. My parents are on call to take him if necessary. I really don't want him to take him since they have 2 ferrets and a cat, so he would be stuck in the basement alone and in his crate the whole time. What life is that for a dog, even for a week. Gah.... I hope he does well at the kennels....
Well, cya soon! Upstate NY, here we come (a 12 to 14hr drive blah....) |
