And the new place is great...love the yard most of all. The commute stinks to high heaven (bus to red line to orange line...ranging from 45 minutes at best to who knows how long at worst), and I really really miss the shops and convenience of Beacon St...but we're saving so much money, and our actual apartment is bigger and nicer, and we love the yard...and we're going to buy a house in a year (HOPEFULLY!)--and then my commute will be even worse, but I'll be in a house...it's all relative in the end. After taking public transit to/from the airport this past weekend, I'm really really wishing I was back in Brookline (took almost 2 hours to get home yesterday--longer than the flight itself)...but when Zoe just got hyper and started barking and we went and played in the backyard, I loved it here. | Yep, it took us a LONG time to adjust to the suburbs and I'm not sure we have yet and we've been here 18 years on May 1st. That, and we have a car. I wish public transit in Boston were better, we have 2 commuter rails lines that go through Westwood but the schedule is so infrequent when it's not rush hour that using it is just not feasible a lot of the time, especially on weekends.
We moved to the burbs to have a yard and decent public schools for when we had kids. It was a big sacrifice in many ways. I love the city, I love the country, but, the burbs are my idea of purgatory |

I want Kody to be able to run around and bay till his heart's content. I wanna rescue that other beagle and let him bay it up too. I want to open my own rescue... |

| Re: Ever have one of those days... Yeah, with Boston there's really no country to speak of...it's urban suburbs, suburbs, and slightly less densely populated suburbs.
I'll probably be about 45-an hour out of the city when I buy a house so that I can have a little bit of land (maybe 1/2 acre) in the "rural-suburbs."
I just wish there was a way to have lots of land and still be in the heart of the city. |

So I think the beagle I posted before either got adopted or was rescued by azbeaglerescue.com..... he's not listed anymore... I hope he got adopted...

My son is arguing with Doberman07 about the Lakers vs Celtics. I can't believe it, he is determined to not lose an argument with Doberman Of course, he is doing it through me so I won't let it get personal |

Hope all is well with everyone. I've had some excitement today.
First, I got home tonite and had a message regarding a job I applied for in Elizabeth City, NC. He was calling to see if I was still interested in the job and really ready to relocate... HELL YES!!! I called him back but he was gone so hopefully he'll call me at work tomorrow. This doesn't mean I've got the job, but it means I was one of the top qualifying applicants. Usually they take the top 3 and that's it. WOOHOO.
And, I figured out how to take videos with the new camera. I had to call Canon to get help but it was worth it. I wasn't being stupid, the info in the manual was wrong.... yay!
So, all things being equal, it was a good day here. |

Yeah, I just hope if that one isnt him that he did get adopted | Jenn, I'm just waiting for a formal official offer from anyone. Whoever comes through first wins. If no one else wants me ... off to AZ I go...I'm not thinking of AZ as a last resort, more of an ace in the hole. I know I've got that one, no matter what. What I'm trying to do is get something even better. Playing the odds/hedging my bets if you will. |

My son loves arguing sports with his friends so I took a little advice on what to say to Doberman and son had a few more respnses I am like a mama tiger when it comes to my kids so it's all in good fun. |
