| Re: Ever have one of those days..... Apartments here are 650 for single bedroom and $800 for two bedrooms, but they are really small. Before we bought the house we used to live in an apartment and its way smaller and older style. It doesn't even have a balcony. Out kitchen is attached to the living room, I can practically cook, watch tv, be on the computer at the same time. LOL! Our house isn't big, its only 1080 sq. ft, with a finished basement and a large backyard. We also have bigger front lawn than everyone else because its a corner house. I love our house, now if only I can stop people from loittering our front lawn, I can say our location is ideal =) One more downside, our house is across an apartment building, and parking is really a problem. Some people has no courtesy at all and PARK RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR DRIVE WAY. Now, isn't that very rude? |

(Letting Moose stay at eriks moms till we BUY a house.) And I am looking forwrad to this summer where my brother and his fiance can come barbeque and spend the night. Its gonna be fun to be back in a house. Can anyone say kiddie pool for the doggies??
shaina, are there any houses available for rent where you are moving? Apartments here are 750 as well. our one bedroom we are in right now, 800 sq ft, is 770.00 a month. | Oooo Kim would LOVE a kiddie pool! Not to mention having out own yard, the ability to have a hose (I never realized how wonderful hoses are until I don't have one), etc...
I haven't been able to find a decent deal on renting a house yet in our new location...and it's hard searching when I'm two states away. Our apartment will be almost 1000 sq ft though, so it's not like we'll be cramped, and it has a second bedroom in case we have visitors, is pretty new, and have a balcony and personal storage area. It's a lot nicer than where we are living now. I'd rather be in an apartment than paying a couple hundred more/month on a house and putting off actually purchasing one as a result, but that's just me. Still a steep increase from now, where we're only paying $500 for a ~750 sq ft place with oodles of parking.
About the visiting though, we won't know a single person within a 3 hr drive, so I dunno how often we'll have guests so the second bedroom will probably have most of the dressers and such (except for the two nice pieces) so that the dog(s) can stay in the bedroom. |

I would take like white shoe polish and write on their windows- "Please refrain from parking in front of private driveway. Thank you." Quote:

Prices are atronomically low right now, its ridiculous. You can buy a 5 bedroom 3 bath house in Maricopa AZ thats 3,000 sq ft for about 140,000... its crazy. Thats also an hour away from here and currently in the middle of nowhere, but its growing.
I mean just look at what 218,000 will get you there. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/rfs/638636376.html
And 184,000..... http://phoenix.craigslist.org/rfs/638650993.html

| I wish I can do that. But I fear for the dogs. I wouldn't want anyone tossing poisoned meat in our backyard. |

I was thinking maybe then if its always the same car, say something like, Hey i dont mind if you park in front of my house, but could you just make sure there is room for me toget out of my driveway?
OR- put up a sign that says ***PARKING $10.00 PER HOUR*** Quote:

Plus, my brothers fiance walked in and said "OMG I WANT TO BUY THIS HOUSE!" So we know she likes it lol. maybe she will be willing to drive further to come hang out being as its so nice. |

| LOL! I should go check out the dollar store if they sell SIGNS like that.. My DH once left a note on one of the cars (there's three of them) and he took it, crumpled it and throw it on our lawn.. My Dh was shocked, I even had to revise my DH's note because I thought his being straightforward could become a problem. I was very very polite in my note and I must have written 20 "please" on it before I decided it was the perfect note. Apparently not, maybe next time, i should let DH take care of his business. |

And 184,000..... http://phoenix.craigslist.org/rfs/638650993.html | Wow...yeah it sounds like the housing market won't hit bottom for a while yet, so I'm hoping by then we are ready to buy. And we'll have several months of living in the area to really get a feel for where we want to live and what kind of pricing the housing market is getting there. Personally I'd love a house out of town, though it's been several years since I've lived in the country...might've forgotten how to do it. Plus that rural farm girl in me feels guilty about buying a house in the middle of what should be a field... we'll see what happens. I have enough questions to get answered right now without worrying about something like that. Quote:

Though if they are that rude, you're right, you might have to worry about the dogs...
EDIT: The first place I found on craigslist where we were moving was a 4 bed + office, 2 car garage + workbench, fenced backyard, 2700 sq ft house for $145,000...

Sooooooooooo.
I'm eating the loss and putting my house up for sale. ****.
Well, at least I'm still way ahead of most people. So I can't really complain. But it's a hell of a lot of money to lose. That's what I get for taking risks.

| Re: Ever have one of those days..... CHRISSY, my gramps used to have a black & white dog he named COMBI. =) short for combination.. If I am going to have a small dog, (doubt I will, I am too clumsy to own something I might accidentally step on) I'll name it something that sounds like a BIG MEAN DOG. LOL! I am thinking GOLIATH or MAX or TANK. =) |

We were gonna put it in our apartment window just to confuse people. Quote:
