They also crapped out pretty fast and sometimes there wasn't enough room for the toes to wiggle and breathe . Asics are great, they've lasted far longer than any pair of Nike's I've had and they have a nice wide toe box without having to get a wide shoe. My feet are pretty narrow but I like to be able to wiggle my toes LOL. My Merrells just won't die. I've had the same pair of hiking shoes for eons and they've survived everything from day after day use @ the horse farm, tons of day hikes, painting fences, etc. |

I also love them. I bought a pair about 2 years ago, and they lasted a entire season of hiking. I was highly impressed. That's about 8-9 months. |

When I hike with others I only really do 5-10 a day. So it's not that bad hiking with me... I hike in rainstorms, but my faithful tent that lasted me 3 years in snow, rain, and thunderstorms just wore out last season. I need $500 for a new tent, and it's time for a $400 sleeping bag, new rain jacket and pants for $200, a new backpack for $250.
Pretty much all of my gear wore out last season. They served me well. So no hiking in bad weather this year unfortunately, until I pay off everything that needs to be fixed (my truck, stuff in my house, etc).
Camping in the rain can be fun, at least imo, with the right gear. |
