| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. Dub as long as you are not a gamer you can use a laptop. However since I have a laptop I had to say good bye to civilization, sim city, The Sims. Most laptops have poor memory and graphic cards and the worst is that you cannot just open it and put a new card |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. Oh, so you'd have to have it installed while its being built or else you can't just send it in to get it changed? Well that sucks. |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. I have a Dell laptop and I play Age of Empires III, Sim City 4 (with the Rush Hour expansion), and the Sims 2 with every expansion they've made so far. Never had an issue with graphics, sound, or a slow run time. |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. Geez. Can't play Sims or Oregon Trail? We are screwed. What's next? No green screen interface drivers?!? Now I have to dig out Carmen San Diego and see if that's still useable. Good thing I really don't use it for games, that's what PlayStation is for.

That's probably the most taxing game on here though, since I don't have AOE III (yet), and D2 and WC3 aren't exactly a strain. If we end up installing Oblivion on this as well as the desktop, then that would be the true test... |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. I think I did not chose my laptop wisely lol basically I can only run games that were made in 2000 or less ! And the laptop was made in 2005.
I guess the worst part is that I just cannot change the component after the computer has left the manufacturer.
I am stuck playing Keen Commander ! |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. These are the basic specs of the Sony we camped out for this past Thanksgiving. It was $299.99 and we also picked up an external hard drive with 160 Gig capacity for $59.99. Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.46 GHz, 15.4" WXGA, 1GB RAM, 120GB, DVD Burner, Wi-Fi Notebook, Graphics: Intel X3100 video card with up to 251 MB of shared memory. Not being a gamer I couldn't tell you if it works ok, it does just fine for us. Although my Windows Mobile phone does a lot of what I need too... |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. Overall, I think XP was the best OS out there. I'm definitely not a MAC fan, but for Microsoft, XP was their best OS. I never even had problems with the first release, then for the service pack, had no problems with the install. As for Vista on my new Sony Vaio Laptop, I hate it. It hasn't given me any problems yet, but I just don't like it, and I cannot get it to connect with my desktop which is running XP Pro. And I've done everything that I could find online to try and connect them, including installing the feature for XP that's supposed to let them connect. But still cannot. |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. Boy that sucks, the first time we turned on the SONY it started sync'ing the media players on the two laptops. Had to load a Pink Floyd album again because the SONY had somehow tried to verify the digital license and couldn't. Gaw, I hate DRM's. I think it was because the VPN was setup correctly. That's what I get for doing something right. |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. So sorry, I am just now getting around to reading the replies. Vista slowed my computer down and Im acutally waiting for it to crash our computer. I am glad I am not the only one having problems but upset that other people are as frustrated as me. I have so many vids that I wanna post on youtube and it won't let me it just freezes my pc. It installed by itself this really small font and I cant see far at all and even my glasses couldnt help me read the print. My mom spent 3 hrs and finally got the size readable. I am trying to convince my mom I need a lap top :P
The plus side in vista is that is takes everything I want to do and pushes it down the drain and I gotta find other ways around the softwear to do what I want so its acutally helping me to get better at working with computers. |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. Wowsers. I was wonderin' what brought this forward. Sorry to hear of your Vista woes. Just a little salt in the wound, I have been sailing smoothly since service pack one. It's still too "icon-y" for me. I miss C:\... and Basic... |

| Re: So mad...I HATE vista.. I have to admit I don't mind Vista. We got this new computer a couple of months ago and it's been fine. It did take a little getting used to and I don't use it for much other than web surfing, email, and playing games (DH is addicted to Battlefield, which is the main reason for getting the new computer ). But I do transcription as a second job and the new version of Word took quite a bit of getting used to, but I think that's more the program version issue than the OS. |
