| I think the question you meant to ask ilovemywestie is, "which dog is known to be the slowest learner?" And yes, I've heard that the irish wolfhound is a slow learner as compared to other breeds. However, being a slow learner does not mean the dog is dumb or the worst to train...it only means the owner needs to be better prepared to handle his or her irish wolfhound. But I'm sure there are many examples of highly intelligent irish wolfies and great danes, and it could be you've never met them. Which is too bad for you. |

| actually, i think the dumbest dog (the one that actually doesn't learn very quickly) is the Afghan.....and i speak from experience.....
as for the Irish Wolfhound, they are quite intelligent and as for them hunting wolves, then i guess you'd have to hate Retrievers, Setters, Coonhounds, Beagles, and the list goes on, as these dogs have all been bred to hunt one thing or another.....
and i hope Buddy is going to be a daddy to a litter of GR and that there is a good background on both parents....we sure don't need anymore "unwanted" pups out there than there already are...... |

| Peoples! Peoples! Calm down. It's not nice to say" dumb" slow learner yes. No offense Ilovemywestie, but you're so cruel by saying Irish Woulfhounds are dumb. Sure they are slower learners, but don't say they are dumb. it's like me saying you're dumb even if you are just slow at learning. |

| Some dogs are kinda stupid or "blond" if you will at times, but not nessessarily dumb. Irish Wolfhounds and mutts are my favorite dgs is the world. Most of them are quick learners, but they just preferr not to pay attention some times. LIKE ME!!! I think irish Wolfhounds are very smart.

| There are pros and cons to every breed. I don't think any breed is the worst or the least smart.
In an owners eyes, if they choose wisely, they get what they want - even if there are trade-offs. |

| I dont think any dog is Dumb its the owners responsibilty to make what the dog becomes, but my own personal opinion on breeds I dont care to own are, any hound dog, just becuase I had them as a kid and I find them hard to train I like them they are just not for me, and as far as Danes they are awesome dogs, I will not a siberian Husky, I did own one a while back beautiful dog just too much for me and my family (he had his own mind lol)
I like Labs even though I havent owned them, I have an American Bulldog and a Rottweiler and also a shih/tzu mix my Favorite breeds are my two large dogs,.. I will not own another dog for sometime but when one of my 3 goes I will probally have another American Bulldog |

| No dog is dumb and no dog is the worst. It depends on their attitude and how they are raised. I would never say anything bad about a dog no matter how stubborn or impatient. You shouldn't assume things about one dog that you have met there are plenty of smart great danes and irish wolfhounds out there. |
