Re: Dog walking fashion and function!

I gave up on fashion years ago. I used to be the dress and high heels kind of gal. Now, I am the jeans and a sweatshirt type. Tennis shoes almost every day, or clogs. I love them. LOL I am hoping for the... Dog is so cute nobody is looking at me anyway theory. LOL

Re: Dog walking fashion and function!

I am not a girl that likes to dress up. I don't even own a pair of heels.. Oh wait, I take that back. I do own a pair of boots that have a heel but I've never worn them. At work, we dress casual; jeans, t shirts, sweaters...that kind of thing. At home, I'm usually wearing what I call "sleep" pants. Basically, drawstring sweat pants. I have a ton of them. Also, I have to get up too early in the morning to bother with makeup. The kids I work with could really care less. Also, I don't want to wear anything nice to work because more than likely I'll end up with something gross on it. Things like mashed up food and spilled drinks, spit and on one really bad day I had, what I'm pretty sure, was vomit on my shirt. THEN I come home to a slobbering Mastiff and a stinky Lab. Nope...nice clothes are not in my future. My bf doesn't mind though. I've been with him for going on 8 years now...I'm passed trying to impress him.

I ushally just wear a t-shirt and jeans with a hoody in the winter and a tank top with cloth shorts in the summer with flipflops. During the day(at school) I wear my school uniform though.

I'm too big to wear jeans, so track pants in the winter & 3/4 pants in the summer. Always wear sneakers & I have a pair of lace up court shoes for best. Most of my wardrobe is black or navy with a couple of colored shirts to wear over black cammies.

Re: Dog walking fashion and function!

In the early morning I usually put on a pair of yoga pants and throw my super comfy, cream peacoat over whatever I'm wearing on top. It doesn't matter what I'm wearing...when I wear that peacoat, I think I look polished.

I hate real "sweatpants" because of the elastic at the bottom. I also think they look fuddy duddy. So, yoga pants (and I mean sweatpants that have a regular hem) in black or a run color, are my old faithfuls.

You can get nice, simple, inexpensive ones at Gap Body and sometimes Old Navy. Here's a bunch at Gap Body.

Oh and for my face, I put a little Aveno moisturizer that has light refracting properties (so I look sunny faced), some Burts Bees tinted lip balm, and big sunglasses. Baxter's not going to wait for make up.

I know exacty what you mean about the "real sweatpants". Can't stand the elastic at the bottom either! I love the yoga pants too. I also love the idea of the peacoat. LOL! Its great!

That elastic keeps the pants from getting dirty/wet in the rain and snow. I actually can't stand the yoga pants!!

Re: Dog walking fashion and function!

victoria's secret has really nice yoga pants on sale right now, 2 for $40 i think. the only problem is that their sizes are a bit off and you have to pay the shipping which is not cheap, and then extra to send it back if it's not the right fit, otherwise I'd buy tons from them.

i'm with you on the elastic at the bottom of sweatpants thing... that should be outlawed I always have a problem finding sweatpants that are long enough though. I have long legs so after one wash they only come to my ankles. yuck.

Re: Dog walking fashion and function!

Yeah, I hate elastic at the bottom of sweat pants too.

In the summer, I wear a tank top/t-shirt and shorts....all day, every day, unless I go "out" (meaning out to eat, to violin lessons or to the mall), then I wear jeans and a t-shirt or maybe a nice shirt.

In the winter, I wear yoga pants (I always called them sweat pants, but I guess those are the ones with elastic haha) and a t-shirt to walk the dog and jeans and a t-shirt (or maybe a nice one if I feel like it) to school. Sometimes I do get dressed up for no reason, though. And I do tend to wear make-up if I'm going anywhere but to the dog park/just to the store or something.

I admit, I have a pair of heels. Good reason though. I have to wear black, closed-toe heels for orchestra concerts that I'm performing in. So it's not my fault!!
