Just ordered a new camera setup!

I'm too excited to NOT brag about this... I have been saving up for what seems like FOREVER in order to get a digital SLR. I already have a film SLR and a pretty good setup for that camera...but I really wanted to go digital.

So I finally ordered my Digital Rebel XT! It was a toss-up for me between the XT and XTi, but according to several of my friends who have both the XT and XTi, the XT is actually superior in quality (less noise on photos).

*EDIT* I changed my order to the MACRO lens. It looks like a good in-between for portrait/up-close and personal shooting.

You won't regret getting a macro lens. It's my favorite lens to work with, and you'll create lots of beautiful pictures with them. Do you have a decent tripod?

Yep, I do have a tripod for my film SLR...not sure if it'll work for my dSLR, but if not, buying a new one won't be a big deal. I've heard that Gorillapods are really good to work with, so I might look into getting one.

I also had a film SLR and switched to the Rebel XT about a year ago. Haven't regretted it. The digital is so nice to work with and the XT is a great camera for someone who isn't professional, but wants high quality pictures.

I wish I had a macro lens... Have fun with the new setup!
