Just a little rant...

Okay, so after reading a post by someone who seemed very unexperienced with dogs, I learn that they have their own rescue. Uh huh... That gets me thinking, they have their own rescue but no vets to answer stupid questions? Every proper rescue should have at least 1 Veterinarian to oversee the health of these animals, right? no... apparently not... Then I see the recue was started because ---

"Looking into poor sick **** eyes made me cry. **** health was now in danger too. My family soon began to suffer the financial debt from this whole situation. Something had to be done! Inspired by The **** Foundation of Oklahoma City, OK (www.****.org) I created The **** Foundation to help raise money, give homes, and medical assistant for animals just like ****. Please help to support this cause."

**** is a dog she bought fom a byb online and got ripped off, so they adopted him out... **** is a dog they bought from a petstore for $1500.00
Their family is really suffering...please donate money...

Okay, so now I'm thinking - these people are getting dogs from Who knows where? and accepting donations without a Tax Id, then selling these dogs that have had no medical evaluations to unsuspecting people over the internet. Wait, it gets better... THEY HAVE A LICENSE TO BREED!!!!!!!

Their plans, as far as I can tell is to become a petstore....
""Hello Pup Lovers! If you have any legal concerns please know our organization has been in contact with the Massachusetts Dept of Agriculture and Bureau of Animal Health to obtain a license to eventually facilitate, sell, and breed. We are not a shelter or pet store, nor do we plan on being for awhile. "
Oh Yea, I feel much better now sending a check written to your personal name and address!!!!!!

Okay, I know this is getting me nowhere but I had to yell, and I thought you guys would at least humor me then tell me to shut up and get over it, that's the way the world is... Suckers and Scammers

Sorry Yoda, I had to edit your post. You clearly did your homework, but unfortunately the names and organizations must remain nameless. This is probably a good reminder that we should look to donate to local organizations that we know, and never send money over the internet to organizations you are not personally familiar with. What a sad, sad situation.

Re: Just a little rant...

At work a couple weeks ago, we got in 68 dogs and puppies from a "rescue." It was one of those people who just kept taking them in, but didn't get vet care for them, spay/neuter, or adopt them out. They finally got busted, and our REAL shelter was then overwhelmed with more dogs. >X.x;<

Re: Just a little rant...

i've seen it all... rescues that have repeated SPCA complaints because the animals are kept in horrid conditions and aren't fed nearly enough so they starve to death, rescues that are actually breeding operations that sell their no-longer-breedable animals, rescues that adopt from other rescues (mostly small dogs) and adopt them out at top dollar, rescues that are actually just one person and her 40 various animals that she can't afford to keep, rescues that have stolen dogs to adopt out for a fee...

sadly a lot of times people end up supporting these rescues even if they know it's a bad situation for the dogs because they just want to get the animal out of the place where they're suffering. understandable, but the rescue just goes out and gets another...

Re: Just a little rant...

This particular rescue doesn't keep the dogs in 1 location - they are fostered by other people until they get adopted/purchased.. Which wouldn't be so bad except these uncared for dogs are staying with _knows who? Background checks? I doubt it. Being fed _knows what? and contracting _knows what kind of diseases form the other dogs that are being cared for by good samaritans...... This really is just some person that bought a very uncared for dog off the internet for too much money and said " Heck I can make some money sellin dogs if they can" This person doesn't even have to house/feed them! Expenses- Gone!!
