Re: Is this okay or too cheap?

Seeing as it doesn't have a "real" brand like Sony, Canon, Fuji etc. I'd guess it's a waste of money. Fo a little bit more money you can buy a much better camera. I have a Sony Cyber shot and on sell I think I've seen them for $130.

I remember I bought a cheap little camcorder and with in a week I sent it back.

I don't think at 98 bucks it's cheap, but it could be a cheap, not very good, product.

I agree with the other replies; go for something else with not only a recognizable maker name, but also something with better reviews.

Re: Is this okay or too cheap?

In that price range, look for something that is designed to do one thing well.

I believe the item you're considering is supposed to shoot stills and videos - maybe record MP3s and wash the dishes. It doesn't do any of those things particularly well.

If you are mainly interested in posting and emailing still photos, you will be happy with a decent, low resolution digital camera. The one I used for years was something like 1/2 megapixel.

If you are wanting to shoot decent quality videos, figure on $500 and up.

I agree with RonE. Just do the camera. For your birthday ask for an mp3 player. Save up your money and perhaps look into a rebuilt camecorder or get a part time job if you can. Even if it's just over the holidays, you can make a good deal of money!

Re: Is this okay or too cheap?

I third Ron's motion. For $120 you can get both a digital camera that's plenty for web stuff, and 4 x 6 prints, and get an MP3 player. And probably still have money left over.

Re: Is this okay or too cheap?

My camera isn't great, but it takes decent web-quality photos and good-enough-for-youtube videos. It's a Samsung and cost less than $100 three years ago, so something similar would probably cost even less now. As mediocre as that camera is, it's lots better than the one I bought 8 years ago for over $300.

I agree with the others. Look for a name brand you've heard of. A cheap Kodak will probably be a better camera than any no-name camera that's main selling point is that it comes a cute color.

In my personal opinion, the best time to buy a camera: Black Friday.

Edited to add:

If you want something cute and pink, this looks like an ok starter camera and should do everything you'd want it to do: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1186005750832

Re: Is this okay or too cheap?

I would actually get this camera,
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5623011

I am currently saving up to get this camera, its the same exact camera that my friend has that I have been using recently to post pics and vids. The picture quality is amazing and if you have seen my recent vids, they also have good image quality.

My other friends has that camera, only in blue. But he said it wasn't very good.

Re: Is this okay or too cheap?

I have a camera... I was a cam corder just for vedios. My digital camera is great for photos but when I do the vedios it drains the battery. So I want just a cam corder. plus the cam corder acts like a webcam online

Re: Is this okay or too cheap?

I'm not that familar with camecorders as I never wanted one, but what about looking into a used one? It's just an idea. Or ask to get a birthday/Christmas present in one?

Good luck

Whatever you do decide to get, just keep in mind, the more mega pixels (MP) it has the better. I wouldn't recommend any camcorder that has less than 6.1 mega pixels.

Re: Is this okay or too cheap?

Whatever you do don't buy abroad, we bought what we thought was Fuji cameras they even showed us a Jessops catalogue with the so called cameras advertised in there.

Turns out they were fake and one of the two we purchased had broken, we are now trying to claim through the Credit Card people.
