| Old furnature, Nice People It's a grey drizzly day after the storms last night.
I'm simply bored to death, or I was earlier.
I went to the flea market near my house and bought some treasures.
Broken down junk to most, but I'm so thrilled.
I got some weird ugly OLD couch/loveseat I'll have to post pics of. It has pointsettia upholstry, and a crack in it, but thats ok. I tell you, that eyesore is going to be a gem when I get done with it.
I bought a round carved table, probably not an antique like the eyesore probably is, but once refinished it'll go nicely with it.
The last thing is so prized to me - its one of the first electric Singer sewing machines. Again, another thing that *may* be stripped and refinished, but I'm actually leaning on leaving it as is.
All together, on those three items I spent $85. The old singer alone, I would have paid that for.
Anyhow, to the nice people.
I'm standing out in the drizzle, got the Singer out of the van and was busting a gut to get it to the steps that lead to the deck that'll get me into the split level home where I need to get it upstairs.
Maybe my pathetic, mournful glance was what caught a passing cars eye - the people stopped, asked if I needed help getting the Singer in, and as prideful as I am I accepted.
Now, minus the hernia I was anticipating the three items are in my living room. I'm worn out, but still very happy with todays purchases.
I just wish I knew where I was going to PUT these things |
