Question yogurt?

Is yogurt a good thing to add to a dog's diet?

I have heard several different things on this topic (naturally conflicting!!)

I have heard that a tablespoon of organic yogurt daily is good for dogs

That when you first switch to raw food you should also add yogurt (don't remember why)

It's a dairy product and should not be part of a dog's diet.

Opinions??

Re: yogurt?

Yogurt is a great part of any dogs diet. Just like for people The live bacteria in yogurt is as good for dogs as it is for people.

When Roxy was on a diet she ate one and a half cups every night before bed, and with their new raw diet I'm starting this week there'll be a few cups when I mix it all up.

The dog nutrionist I speak with, said to make sure there's no sugar and it's low in aspertame.

Re: yogurt?

It should be the plain non-fat kind. My dogs love - I make frozen cubes with it too.
