Eggs in dog food?

To tell you right away I know very little about dogs.
I have a rottweiler.Her name is Klea.
Recently I heard somewhere that it is good to put an egg once a week in dogs food.It keeps coat

shiny. Is this true? Is it OK to put egg in dogs food?

If you want to help with the skin and coat look into fish oil (omega-3). Eggs are good for dogs also.

Mine get a whole raw egg in their food once or twice a week. Fish oil is indeed better, especially salmon oil.

I,too, add raw egg to my dogs diet. More often than some, as they get it once each day.

do any of you that feed raw eggs do any special preparations or do you just crack the egg and toss it in the food?

I crack the egg, scramble it all around, and then throw it in... I don't have a food processor so I leave the shell out, but you can grind it up and include it. It's a good source of calcium. >^_^<

I give my dogs the whole egg sometimes. Take them outside and let them go to town on them.

What I do with the eggs varies. I may scramble them, or water them down some and add it raw to the dry food.

If you add raw to a dry kibble dish, make sure you clean it out after the dog is done eating because it can trun into a brick if left out over time.

I never include the shell.

My dogs get egg once or twice a week. I give a whole egg (shell and all) with their raw meal in the morning. The shell is very healthy for your dog, and is full of protein.

I would not add egg everyday, as it can mess up the balance of your dog food, but is helpful as a suppliment.

I also give yogurt (plain, NOT no/low fat), apple cider vinager, and Solid Gold SeaMeal.
