Re: Apple cider vinegar

It is in my dog food and I believe it is very good for dogs too...

Apple Cider Vinegar is also wonderful for dogs, cats, and horses. It helps them with arthritic conditions, controls fleas & barn flies, and gives a beautiful shine to their coats!

Re: Apple cider vinegar

What food is it in?
I am getting it very pure to dilute in their food - I am hoping it will help with Isabel's annal glands and Lula's joints. I have heard her left hip pop a couple times... yikes... It sopposedly does a lot of things.

Apple cider vinegar is also a great way to get rid of stomach aches (in humans)!

Re: Apple cider vinegar

I feed mine quite a simple complete kibble as they get raw free range organic meat and two veg with their two meals. But what worries me is that in their kibble is Beet Pulp (that's why I love this forum). Should I change? They both love it and they seem very happy and shiney onit? I'd love advice

Re: Apple cider vinegar

I give acv daily to my gang. Good for the liver as well.
I prefer to get the one with the "strings" in it, its far more pure than the grocery store kind ( and stinks to high hell too) the dogs for the most part love it, I add it to their water. If its not in there they sorta look at it and then at me as if to say " WTH ?somethings missing"

Re: Apple cider vinegar

We also use apple cidar vinegar in our all of our dogs water. It is great for UTI's....for some reason, little saint girls have alot of trouble with that...as many times their vulva's are a bit inverted and can pick up bacteria..because heaven forbid, they have to literally touch the ground when they squat to pee. LOL
Also it is wonderful for coats as well. It is most effective if you get the natural, unpasteurized kind...sold in health stores. We have used the stuff in regular grocery stores..but with not near as much success.
Also, if we have a dog that likes to gulp down his food, we will put a couple cap fulls in the food to slow them down a bit. That works pretty well too.

Re: Apple cider vinegar

If the beet pulp is not causing any allergy-like symptoms I wouldn't switch; however, if your dog has allergies (licking feet, ear infections, dry skin) I might consider a kibble without beet pulp.

I put ACV in my dogs' distilled water for drinking daily. Great stuff for humans, too.

Re: Apple cider vinegar

The apple cider viegar from the supermarket is basically worthless nutritionwise. You want to get the vinegar with "the mother" in it from a natural food market. Some dogs t=have to get used to it very gradually but it's very healthy for them and for us.

Re: Apple cider vinegar

It is super great for pets, birds, etc, and humans as well. Good for many things in dogs skin, coat shiny, arthritis, heart tonic, just a good thing for us all and to give to our dogs n birds. Must be APPLE CIDER, Not the white or regular, does nothing...

Re: Apple cider vinegar

Hi, Im new here and I've just been reading this thread and I found it very interesting and was wandering if anyone could tell me how much Apple Cider Vinegar you give to your Dogs per day.
I have two Dogs, one Lab X aged nearly 8 and one Lurcher aged almost 5, it would probably be easier for me to put it into their water bowl.
Should I start with a small amount (how much?) and how much should I work up to?.

Thanks,

Butterfleye.

Re: Apple cider vinegar

Hi everyone! I have used Apple Cider Vinegar for my 3 dogs off and on. It is great stuff. I also have used it for awhile for myself. It's supposed to help with weight loss. I'm not sure I used it long enough, tho' (LOL). Even diluted it's still pretty strong, so my dogs didn't like it in their water. I use can food, too, so if I mix it in with it they eat it just fine.

Glad I saw this thread as it confirmed what I had read. That it should be unpasteurized as well. Now I'll check out the local health food stores. Thanks.
