Feeding tips for my fish-lover?

Relatively new dog owner here. My 15 month old mix Juniper is nuts about fish: calamari, sardines, skate wing, and especially salmon. Have been feeding her a couple of tablespoons of Before Grain canned salmon with her kibble (Merrick) and occasional leftovers. The food coop near my house has decent deals on canned fish for humans: mackeral, sardines and salmon, so I'm wondering, anything wrong with feeding her that stuff? It's just meant to supplement the kibble and make it more enticing for her. I'll try to buy canned fish without salt if possible.

Any fish a dog shouldn't eat? And any kinds of fish people recommend (raw or canned) for feeding dogs?

Lucky dog! Great idea. Just need to avoid fish high in mercury like tuna. The fish you listed are great additions to kibble. If a friend gives you fish make sure the water it lived in is clean so the fish would be safe for you to eat.

Herring is another good fish. I always check for potenial mercury issues. Here is one site http://www.gotmercury.org/article.php?list=type&type=75

Raw salmon from the Pacific Northwest is possibly infested with a very nasty parasite so must be frozen or cooked before feeding to dogs. Any raw fish could have parasites, most not as nasty as the salmon poisoning one though.
