I meant that's why Orijen displays the fresh fish thing prominently on their bags of kibble.

Well that makes sense ...they use lake fish.....it is only required for Ocean fish

I am switching away from TOTW HP because of the grumblings with Diamond and their products. I dont want to because my dog LOVES it and its a great price but I just dont feel comfortable feeding it anymore. I am switching to EVO red meat small bites. I hope he does ok with it.

I was feeding my small dog TOTW HP for as long as it took him to eat a 35lb bag...which was quite a few months. He did really bad on it. Don't get me wrong, he loved it, but had the WORST poop...gas...diarrhea. It was bad, once I switched him back to barking at the moon it took a very short time for him to recover. I wouldn't say it's bad food and for the price, give it a try. Just didn't work for me.

As for the whole wild caught fish/chemical discussion. I would much rather have wild ocean caught fish with a small amount of mandatory chemicals in it than ANY inland caught fish. The chemicals floating around in those waters because of human is worse than anything added to ocean fish!

I tried it, but then immediately switched to another food when I found out that the fish meal is preserved with Ethoxyquin.

My dog likes both the HP and Wetland formulas. He doesn't care much for the fish formula.
