Recommendations for training treats

I am doing a lot of training but more importantly behavior modification with my puppy. Because I have to give her so many treats (and I must give her treats and low key verbal stimulation only, so more praise is not the answer here), she is a little pooping machine. I have noticed that her stool is looser than before we started the behavior modification program and significant increase in treats.

The behaviorist (who is a vet) used PetSmart Training Treats, but they don't sit well with her once inside. I have been using Bil Jac (Little Jacs) and tearing them into tiny bits, which are still as effective. But the loose stool continues and it's really hard to clean up. I am not worried about a medical issue, although I will discuss with my vet during her DHPP appointment Monday.

Any suggestions for a good treat that can be cut/torn into tiny portions which might help with her tummy? She is extremely food motivated so probably any type of taste will do

Have you considered natural treats? Cheese, Crackers, etc?

One good technique is to measure out the puppy's ration of kibble for the day and steal it for treats. Many people use Cheerios. You are quite right about the treat being more important than the taste or size.

I like to use meat.

I just scored a big bag of frozen boneless chicken breasts today in fact, older stuff and out to get rid of it for cut price, maybe slightly freezer burned.

I just bake it or grill it and slice it into little pieces with a good sharp knife.

I wanted to score some beef liver, but they had none.

Meat like that seems to be quite high value with them. They generally don't put much value on pet store treats.

My dogs will do ANYTHING for Cat Chow. And the kibbles are nice and small so they don't fill up too quickly. Might upset some dog's tummies, though.
