What kind of Peanut Butter?

So I read on another thread about putting peanut butter in Kongs then freezing them so the dog can enjoy a nice treat. After I did that our Olli went crazy for it well now he seems to have loose stool and he's sleeping at my feet and I can hear his stomach making funny noises. I used Jiff creamy but was wondering if there is a certain brand I should be using?

Re: What kind of Peanut Butter?

I usually buy one that's made out of just peanuts---no added salt or sugar. My dog seems to do ok with it. I can't remember the brand, but I think it's Smucker's. It's kind of a pain in the ass, because the only no-additives peanut butter I can find is also organic.

The PB that I use is the Natural PB. The only thing is, it is extreemly liquidy. Once you stir it, keep it in the fridge.

Re: What kind of Peanut Butter?

I just used the jar in the cupboard when the dogs were young. Now I use a salt free one.

Main problem is you are offering up fat. The kong doesn't need to be full. A smear around the inside is fine. I will measure an ounce for both dogs, it isn't much!

Ok cool thanks. He seems to be doing good with the Jiff. Probably just a once and a while thing since he's still a pup?

You could also try pieces of banana in the kong. I gave some to Kina last night. She loved it, and it was so funny watching her try to get it out!

Banana eh? Ok I'll try that too. Just gave him a pork rib bone tonight and he went crazy for that too. Anything to keep the guy happy
