What is the best food for a dog with frequent bouts of diarrhea and fecal incontinence?


She's an aging German Shepherd, and she's been fed a combination of BARF, Evo, Taste of the Wild, and Canidae canned for many years.

I am trying to avoid a Hills prescription diet.

(BTW, she has a progressive spinal disease that is affecting her ability to control her bowels. Her blood work and fecal smears are normal.)

I would try California Naturals and add some pumpkin to her diet.

Pumkin really helped my dog when she had bouts of diarrhea.

Hmmm ... I'd heard of pumpkin for constipation, but not diarrhea. Thanks for that tip! I'll also look up California Naturals.

That's the strange thing about Pumpkin, it'll work if your dog has diarrhea or if he's constipated.
