| Diamond Naturals Formula??? Hi. I have been looking for a new food for my dog. (I haven't been feeding him the best stuff and want to get him a food that is good for him)
I recently bought a small bag of Natural Balance to try. He doesn't seem to like it much.
I stopped at the local farm bureau and they have the Diamond Naturals dog food there. I read the ingredients and it looks to be good. Does anyone use this type of food or know anything about it? Would it be a good choice to use? The price is pretty good (cheaper than Natural Balance, lol) and I can easily get the food.
Thanks in advance.
Or would Nutro Naturals or Ultra be a better choice?
My dog is picky, he likes food with lots of flavor/smell....

| It's so funny that you posted these two foods in this thread LOL We used to be die hard Natural Balance feeders...even feeding 9+ large dogs, it was worth the expense to us. Then we moved and no one around us sold NB.
We actually switched to raw for a long time but a few months ago switched back to kibble for a variety of reasons. At any rate, we went to Diamond Naturals and all of our (now 14) greyhounds do well on it. We just recently got a petco that sells Natural Balance, but our dogs do just as well on the Diamond Naturals as they did on the Natural Balance that it's really hard to justify the much higher cost for the couple "better" ingredients.
Bottom line: Diamond Naturals is great food...for what it costs, I'd say it's excellent food LOL. Our dogs do great on it (and several of them are performance dogs), so we will keep feeding it until we switch back to raw (which will *hopefully* be soon!).
I would stick to only the Naturals line and avoid their lower level foods. They aren't much cheaper in price, but I think the ingredient list is a lot lower quality than the Naturals.

| I feed Diamond Naturals 60+. We were feeding Canidae and California Natural before, but my dogs just werent doing as well as I hoped, especially for the price. They are doing BETTER on Diamond, and its 1/2 the price.
I would NOT feed any of Diamonds regular formulas (professional, maintence etc).
Diamond also makes Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul which is their top of the line food.
I personally love Diamond and will continue to feed it. We are thinking of switching to Lamb and Rice, simply because its much easier to find around here |

| I have feen Diamond feed for years before they had that problem about a year ago. Then tried Nutro and started haveing problems with food alergies so I have switched back to Diamond Narual and the dogs really like it and are doing well on it and no longer have the food alergies.

| Man.. your posting was just what i was wondering.. I got all the answers from replies (thank you ) However, petcos around us don't carry diamond natural - only diamond. Does anybody know who carries Diamond natural in Overland, St. Louis area? I would appreciate it. |

| Here's the link to the Diamond retailer locator for Missouri: http://www.diamondpet.com/dealer_locator/MO/ It doesn't specify on the site which dealer carries which Diamond product, but it's easy enough to call a few places and ask if they carry the Naturals line. |

| Love-
I tried couple out of the list before I posted this, it is so outdated, they are either out of biz, stop carrying item long ago or carry only Diamond line but natural. I was hoping somebody actually has gone to local store. Thank you anyways. |

Many local stores (not chains) carry Diamond Naturals. You can also ask the places that carry Diamond if they will order you a specific formula.
Also, if you have a Petco, many of them carry the Diamond Naturals line. |

| I would think if they carry the regulare Diamond that they can get the other in just ask. They may not carry it as they may not think they have a demand for it.

| I tried to Petco and the manager said he would look into it but he thought this request wouldn't get approved, which didn't make any sense to me.
So I contacted Diamond directly, they provide me of Distributor POC, then they gave me a place where I can order. Guess what! It was a hard ware store right down the street from me, literally. Who would've though a hard ware store would order dog food for you? My guess is the Local distributor deals with other item they carry along with dog food.
I am so happy that I found the place. I don't have to drive long distance (really harsh on my back)
Thank you very much for you guys, yay~~~ |

| I'm glad you found a source! We get ours from either from a mom-and-pop "general store" down the street or our local feed store. |
