When to go down from three meals to two?

I have a seven month old beagle who I'm feeding three times a day. Should I continue three meals or go down to two or at what age do most dogs transition to this? His vet told me I can go ahead and switch him to adult food now, which I will do soon. Thanks

Re: When to go down from three meals to two?

It's a matter of choice. Myself, I'll always give Sophie 3 meals a day. I'm home all day so if she needs to go outside more often, I'm available to open the door. She enjoys her lunchtime meal the most, why would I remove that one from her?

I'm of the belief that a dog should get at LEAST 2 meals a day due to blood sugar levels, and if possible and convenient, 3 meals, although not absolutely necessary.

Do what's most convenient for you as long as your pup gets the proper amounts at each meal.

I have an 8-month old Beagle and have been feeding twice a day since I got him. He's been on an all life stages food for two months.
