Merrick

I am thinking of switching Shadow to Merrick. I want to know who feeds it and what do you think. Please don't mention any other foods here as I only want to hear from people who have fed Merrick and their opinions. Thank You!

Re: Merrick

I'm feeding Merrick right now.

If your dog has a sensitive stomach, it may be a rough transition with all of the veggies in it.

I like it because of its availability and price. Marge, too, likes it.

She is currently having a problem with hair loss on her ears. My gut feeling is that it doesn't have to do with the food (as the rest of her coat has gotten much nicer after we switched to Merrick) but I still figured I'd mention it. I might have to supplement with Fish Oil.

Over all, I recommend it. Start with one of the blander varieties.. Grammy's Pot Pie, for example.

Re: Merrick

I have used dry Merrick in the past (Turducken, Puppy Plate, Grammies Pot Pie, Trout formula, Wilderness Blend) and my dogs liked them and did fine on them. I still use their can Grammies Pot Pie sometimes. And I always use their natural chew treats (especially the Texas Toothpicks). I like Merrick and may use it again in the future. I am one that switches up every now and then. Right now my dogs are on Eagle Pack Holistic Select dry. I feel it is a good food with good ingredients. I say go for it!

Re: Merrick

I fed Merricks TurDuckChicken to my JRT for years with excellent results. I no longer have the JRT..
I tired to feed Merrrick for a short time to my new dog and was pretty happy with the Cowboy Cookout, but then tried the Wilderness Blend and had to give the bag away! The gas that my dog produced on that flavor was shocking! eeww.
I haven't given Merricks another try...just because I find there are so many brands out there.
I like the company and generally think the food is very good.
If your dog is enjoying the food and not having any loose stool or gas, then I'd say it's working for your dog and stick with it!
